All meals were tasty, but the sweet and sour fish was otherworldly. Prices are standard for Lao. As usual here, the personnel doesn't speak much English, but the older lady, who runs the business, knows enough, that you can order. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Good Laos food restaurant on the main strip. Not touristy but there are usually a few foreigners eating as the food is excellent quality and a reasonable price (although it is not printed on the menu). No English spoken which does result in the odd ordering error but whatever you get it will be tasty. Cheap beer is a bonus. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
I liked it so much, that I went a second time. Fried noodles with vegetables were delicious (although very fatty ;)), same with the fried spring rolls. You'll get huge portions for a small price and will be surrounded by locals. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Nice Laotian restaurant with good food and good service. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
We had very ordinary fried rice and a vegetable. It was palatable, but far better than we had up the road the night before up the road. Phoonsavan is definitely not a destination for food tourism. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Great big portions for the money. But service is too slow. Overall would recommend if you're not in a rush. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Dirty restaurant, sticky tables and cutlery. Glasses smelly and not clean. Staff forgets orders, have to tell them over and over. Good not fresh. Had to wait at the counter for 10 minutes just to finally had someone taking my payment, would gladly leave without paying since they don’t seem to care. Overall dirty restaurant. Do not come back if they don’t change their methods Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I think Simmaly is the best Laotian restaurant in town. While we were there, there were many locals eating a variety of Laotian food. For the tourists like us, they have an English menu. Though the staff speak very little English, we managed to order what we want by pointing to the item in the menu. They were generous with their food portions. We ordered a plate of fried rice which looked like it can feed at least two hungry persons. The rice tasted as if it was fried under a strong fire and tasted great. The fried fish we had was sweet and juicy. It was well fried, crispy on the outside but still moist and tender on the inside. We thought the fish was cheap as the price listed on the menu was 25K. But when the bill came, we were charged 40k for it. We did not make an issue as we thought 40k was still reasonable and not knowing Lao, it would be a hassle. On another day, we had a bowl of pork noodle soup. Big portion for 15k. Generally it's a clean Laotian restaurant serving tasty food. We recommend it highly.
Very friendly people, good English menu, only a bit slow on the service: first your food, 2min later the rice, 5min later the plates to eat it on and forgot the drinks. But food was good and reasonable price, free banana's! I just changed on google that this place is re-opened. For more travel tips, search me on YouTube :) Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Large portions of local food with friendly staff. Chicken soup had a tomyam base and was awesome to eat in cold weather. The fried rice and omelette was also not bad, but the beef was quite hard to bite into.
