Our server was Ethan H, Table 32. We went here for the Chowder. It was a cold wet January day, and many of the other restaurants were closed, and they had a sign up stating that they had been recognized for their clam chowder. Honestly I couldn't really taste much of anything in this except what seemed to be lots, and lots of hot cooking cream. No real subtlety of flavor, no herbs save maybe a hint of thyme, no clams, not even the taste or sight of potatoes. Honestly I would make two recommendations eat on the bar side, on the restaurant side where we ate we kept being surrounded by religious groups eating here and got to overhear some rather bizarre conversations I wish I could unhear, and the second is given how few restrooms are available in this area don't eat bowls of heavy cream. Synopsis: Calamari type dishes are probably good, avoid the soups, and the bar area is probably more lively and relaxed than the fancier restaurant area. Honestly overall? Try one of the more dive bar restaurants if they are open. This restaurant was fairly busy, so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt because even though it was listed as a signature dish, the local clients were eating the seafood excluding the chowder. That having been said the price, for the quality and service presented just did not seem that awesome. For a date night or anniversary I would definitely go elsewhere. Phenomenal food and atmosphere in the heart of downtown Astoria. My wife and I, celebrating our anniversary, were treated like royalty. All the pictures and paintings on the wall are so special. The food was amazing. I had the filet mignon and my wife had the salmon which she is still raving about (24 hrs later). Dessert, fantastic! Can’t say enough. My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We both came to the conclusion that it was the best meal we've ever had. His filet mignon was the best we've ever had. I've never had Chicken Tchoupitoulas before, but I have no doubt that no other restaurant will be able to top the one I had here. Our waitress was so kind and thoughtful, and the atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend stopping here for the best meal you'll ever have. Had great Canadian lobster tail last night. Shrimp cocktail. They offer bread. Waiter did a good job at his job but was always in a hurry Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A little pricey for lunch but we had excellent fish and chips. The clam chowder is highly recommended, rich and bountiful. Well worth it. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I visited Silver Salmon Grille for breakfast, and although it's not my usual breakfast spot, I decided to try something different and ordered the Cajun salmon sandwich. To my surprise, they offered dessert at the end, and I couldn't resist – it looked delicious, and it tasted just as good. The food was good and fresh. The only downside was the long waiting time, but I'm giving them 5 stars because they likely had a shortage of staff. We were driving through Astoria this weekend and stopped to have lunch at Silver Salmon Grille and we were not disappointed! The food came out super quick after we ordered. I got the coconut shrimp and my husband got the fish and chips. We also ordered some calamari, all of it was delicious. The service was great and all around a good experience. If you’re in town and in the mood for a good seafood lunch, definitely check it out! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
