Good restaurant that has great service. The food is excellent and well worth the price tag. Had a client dinner there and I was impressed with the service and food. Will definitely go back when I’m back in Taiwan. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Thank you for coming to Taiwan, Denis! We hope you have a wonderful journey. The shrimp tempura is extraordinary.

Hits and misses. Love their potato porridge, liver and omelette. But not so much on the rest of the dishes. Stir fired sweet potato leaves was a major let down... Posh and pricey, but food taste does not justify the premium pricing. We had better experience at their Zhongshan branch 3 years ago. Place is popular. Best to call for reservations. Many people’s childhood memories must have been made here. This can’t be a review of the legendary Taiwanese Cuisine specialist because the menu is vast and am allergic to some of their main ingredients so I can’t taste many of their signature dishes. Nonetheless, I got a glimpse of how the empire grown from 1977 with one restaurant to 22 restaurants with its original earning one Michelin star year after year. I could taste the sincerity and great technique perfected in decades. The wait staff was patiently helping us build a balanced lunch order. My faves from our humble lunch were their green grapes pickle (only TWD 90) and their Turnip Pancake. One shan’t miss their ALMOND TOFU (consistency was heavenly! A bit gelatinous like mochi but not quite chewy, so delicate yet full of flavors). Their hot almond milk soup with cold you tiao also stuffs that would make you come back for years. Peanut mochis drew all three into perfect harmony of taste in our mouths. Shin Yeh is the place that if I live there I could go to with my family at least once a month. Food is excellent. Good place for business lunch. Great services and lively atmosphere. Portion is alright for you to try more varieties. We ordered grilled pig liver, dry scallop cuttlefish balls, steamed crab sticky rice, sweet potato congee, fried fish fillets and mini egg tarts. Restaurant offered free dessert ~ mochi topped with peanut powder...fresh and hot...it's delicious.
