I went to get fuel. I inserted my American Express card for pre-authorization as per usual. I started pumping, and one second later, a $200 charge appears on my card. I’m a smart lady and set my alerts, but that’s beside the point.
A) My fuel was pre-authorized. Thousands and thousands of dollars seems like plenty to cover a $78.00 fuel charge does it not? Do I get rewards points for that $200 that was unceremoniously tacked onto my credit card without permission? No? Doesn’t rightly seem fair now does it?
B) Don’t assume everyone, especially your ‘once’ loyal customers, are thieves. That’s paranoia on a whole other level and actually requires psychiatric intervention. It could also signal low levels of Vitamin B6. I’m a researcher. You’re welcome.
C) To those who are not wealthy, I advise you to pay cash for your gas at this, ahem, station because you may be unable to use $200 of your funds for a few hours to a few days after purchasing fuel.
D) I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried.
Hours are NOT accurate! The pumps dont even stay on after hours and there isnt another open gas station for almost 15 miles. I was banking on them being open at night to get gas and ended up having to call for help because their hours listed are not correct.
I usually pick this spot to get gas/snacks/pizza. Their hours are listed on the door, on the counter, and online. It’s a little upsetting however that they don’t stay open until the hours listed. There have been a few instances where I have rushed to get there before 10pm and the doors are locked and lights out around 945pm. Considering this is the only gas station around the area, for as early as it closes they should be there the full time
