Selected seasonal ingredients are more fresh and healthy, and less greasy and salty. It presents the friendly taste of "New Shanghai Style Taiwanese Flavor". Dongpo meat is shiny in color, smooth and sticky, fragrant and not greasy.There is only a thin layer of fat and pig skin, with a fat-to-thin ratio of 3:7.Fatty meat is oily but not greasy, lean meat is fragrant and mellow, It makes people who dare not eat fatty meat easy to eat, and even want to have another piece! An unexpectedly large venue with with an elevator and 5 floors of seating. Was a bit confused why it was this big! Noticeable some cups was and plates had gone through the dishwasher and had to be recleaned. The experience was like a time warp back to the 90s. Staff was super attentive and professional. The food was of older traditional Chinese dishes: Jellyfish, froglegs, chicken amalgam, sweet and sour fish, abalone. Overall the food was quite good although the freshness of of some such as the fish was questionable. Atmosphere was great having a private room and able to speak freely. The restaurant is a chain and all deliver high quality Shanghainese cuisine. The braised pork belly, stewed fish, stir-fried bean curd and pork julienne were wonderful; stewed nappa cabage with ginko was delightful; and the chicken soup took at least 8 hours simmering with bones and Chinese cured ham. Good food but TERRIBLE service. They sold out of the small portion of the dongpo meat by 7:30, but didn’t tell us that the larger portion was available 🤦🏻‍♀️ They also didn’t ask us if we wanted to add anything before their kitchen closed at 8:30. We tried to order something extra at 8:31, and they said it was impossible 🤦🏻‍♀️ Very old school business mentality for a highly priced restaurant; they rolled the garbage cans at 8:45 while people were still eating 🤢 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
