We were advised by friends to make a stop as they highly recommended the restaurant. The restaurant atmosphere is a bit cold, but our waitress made up for it. She was so friendly and helpful. Their prices are very affordable. We ordered dim sum and pork buns for starters which were good, but not amazing. I had chow main, which was a big portion and hubby had pork belly. The sauce with the belly was very good, but the meat not as soft as he had hoped. Maybe we just expected too much after the referral. Disappointed. I ordered Sweet and Sour chicken a year ago. It tasted like it was baked in fish oil or something - not good at all. I thought it would have improved so I gave it another try and bought Curry for my husband and the Chicken for myself again. The chicken tasted old and stale again. The sauce in the curry dish was good but the potatoes in the meal tasted old as well. A day later our friends went and ordered dumplings that were undercooked and chow mein was not nice at all. The service isn’t good. We phoned and ordered beforehand. When we arrived we gave them our order and they told us to wait, but the meal was ready on the counter and getting cold and we eventually had to ask a second time about our food and then they saw it was right there the whole time. Sushi was amazing! Freshest fish and they are not shy on the amount of fish in the sushi. Chinese dishes also amazing. The dim sum is not real dim sum, rather it's a bao. Still tasty though. We also had deep fried ice cream, it was totally worth it! Decor and atmosphere are lovely. Will be back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Had my birthday lunch here and enjoyed the sushi fresh and the service was good and friendly. Had deep fried ice for the first time and surprisingly very delicious. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 200–250 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Deep Fried Ice-Cream
Food wasn’t the best. Tried it out despite the reviews and was not worth it. Chicken Chow mien wasn’t flavourful at all and had the Shanghai beef and the pieces of beef were mostly fat. Would not recommend at all Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Greeted and seated by a very friendly and welcoming Uthnati, who was our server for the evening. The sushi was well prepared and delicious. Uthnati made us feel welcome and made our experience at the restaurant worth while. 🍣🍱

Arrived for a birthday celebration. Our waitress was clearly not properly trained. Our food was served without any utensils, serviettes etc, of any sort, we waited at least 5 mins, while our food was getting cold. My son's starter was brought after his main meal was served, main meal was getting cold. My granddaughter of 8yrs suffered, vomiting from the Crabstick sushi, her grandad is suffering with a bad tummy from the Sweet n Sour pork. We had to wait for the bananas to be bought at the One Stop shop, as they had none in stock. No management in sight. Will I be promoting Shanghai, definitely NO! No apologies, as this was not a bad day for them, poor management and untrained waitress. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 500+ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Busy and popular restaurant. Lots of convenient parking. Staff appears friendly, professional and smartly dressed. Nice and neat inside. Mind the hidden step to the men's restroom. Missing towels to dry your hands. The Won Ton soup was very salty, tasted of seaweed, and the dumpling could have been more cooked. Beef noodles was tender and tasty but a bit heavy on the salty sauce.

Unfortunately, gave this place a second try, but didn't hit the mark. Decent dumplings, sushi not fresh and chow mein to greasy. Service Take out Food: 2
