Atmosphere, energy, foraged ingredients & good times.
If you’re a fan of making memories, then Searles is where you go when you’re in Stanford. I’ve enjoyed many sexy little numbers, but my favs are probably the deep-friend nori (foraged by the chef-owner, DJ), freshly foraged mussels in coconut milk and chicken trinchado. Dying to taste the pho. Enjoy various bitings with an impressive wine selection, all from the liveliest stoep in Downtown Stanford.

Last night, we missioned over to go see the Stanford Starry Night Lights. It was a 1.5hr drive for us, one way.
But first, we needed to fill our stomachs.
We must definitely commend the team at Searles. Although very, very busy, we were welcomed with a smile and treated as if they had already reserved a table for us (we didn't think that far ahead 🙄).
Every customer we noticed was assisted with friendliness and ease. The food and quality, and taste are top shelf! Flavour in every bite. The warm atmosphere to the interior design was perfect for the whole family to admire.
To our waitress, huni, you deserve a Bells!

The worst service ever. I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant. We waited for an hour and a half for our food order. No interaction from the waitress about a delay or keeping us in the loop. Nothing! They served one person out of 8. Ten minutes later we paid our drinks and walked out.

Searles in Stanford is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step in, the warm ambiance sets the stage for a delightful meal. The attentive staff adds a personal touch, ensuring your every need is met. LOVED IT 🇿🇦
What a delightful spot in Stanford. Quirky decor with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is exciting and delicious. With a menu that offers amazing regulars as well as weekly changes depending on the available ingredients or the chef’s creative mood, this is a place you have to visit.

A restaurant which you love or hate. Its quirky and it sent you back in the past. Food is good home cooking‘ Simply menu and nothing fancy, but feeling. Pork ribs were average and dry, but the restaurant was very full and kitchen and Service overworked. Calamari and baked brie was the best.

I visit here regularly. The staff and owner make sure to make everyone feel welcome while serving delicious food. The menu changes on a regular basis, often with an Asian influence to some dishes.
Make sure to ask for the fresh harvest as the owner frequently forages fresh muscles and/or sea lettuce.

Totally in love with that place, spent a good few nights learning about wine, and even got to attend a simply fabulous Bingo night. Never had a bad time, and can't wait to go back.

Very busy, seemed that staff were not able to cope. Sixty minute wait for food. Burger was flavourable but cold, Hake was really not value for high cost. We booked a table, but were not given any preference on arrival. Good tables on verandah were all taken.
