Most disgusting food I've ever tasted! I'm not sure why it has such high reviews. I wish I looked at my food before I reached my destination. The brisket was chopped and extremely dry. No flavor. Not even salt and pepper. The plate was served very sloppy. Something that resembles vomit was in my plate as well. This place is a negative. Wish there was an option for zero. I've waited 20 years to write this review but it needs to be said. People who think this is good BBQ have no idea what good BBQ is. The ribs have practically no meat on them. The pulled pork is basically hog mush with no flavor; might as well have come out of a can. When u complained the middle aged lady waitress looked at me like I was crazy. Seriously tho, so yourself a favor and don't go here. Again, this is from an experience 20 years ago, but it was so horrendous there's no way it could have changed enough positively to make the food worth eating. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Great atmosphere, the place has a nice charm and pretty good service. Been around awhile. The rice and hash was pretty cool as well as the Cole slaw. I was very disappointed in the sliced brisket. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but the brisket was abysmal. Very tough cold and dry bricks of meat. I am hoping it was just a bad batch. I love BBQ but someone couldn’t pay me to eat that brisket again. I’ll try again in a few months when hopefully their quality control is better. Ms Holly gave that great Southern hospitality with a smile to add to my experience. Unfortunately the food lacked taste. I ordered the 1/2 lb pork bbq & hash plate with potato salad. For some reason it was just bland. I tried working the different sauces, but it just didn’t do it for me. It was cool restaurant though. Had a lot of charm. You could tell they’ve been around a while. I’d try them again if in the area. I wanted to like very much, but just couldn’t get into the plate…. I had the plantation platter so I could try everything. I would de come back here again if in the area. Th only reason I didn’t give this place a 5 was the brisket was a little tough. Great flavor but just not as tender as it could be. BBQ , hash, ribs, chicken, and house made potato salad were all very good. The portions were gigantic and the service was excellent.
