We just moved here and my husband and I were looking for a bar near our house. The venue was awesome. Live music,...Sublime covers..so good though! Food truck was awesome and crowd was. 30s 40s. Drinks discounted for ems and fire fighters. But affordable even without the discount. People were friendly and welcoming. Come here.... seriously. It was fun!

This bar is by far one of the greatest locations to go to in Surf City. The owners have lived in Surf City most of their life and it is a very locally home grown business that very much so caters to all forms of First Responders as well as a friendly family atmosphere to where you can bring your children. They're located right on the main drag of Surf City directly across from the beach. They have a great setup inside of the bar as well as a live music venue located towards the back with a very big seating area and just all around great atmosphere. I absolutely love this place and I wholeheartedly recommend if you're in the Surf City area to stop by Scallywags and grab yourself something to drink and maybe do some karaoke while you're there Meal type Other Price per person $10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Nice place! Great area out back with a stage , cornhole boards and Bar ! Inside gives you a down home local vibe. Everyone was extremely nice!

Scallywags is awesome place to go! Staff was awesome. Atmosphere is amazing. The live music was a great volume. Not too loud but loud enough. If you are a first responder or just a vacationer this is a place you need to go to relax. Looking forward to our next outing here.

Fantastic new spot on the island with live music and such a fun and lively atmosphere! Scallywags pays tribute to the local firefighters and combines a fireman and pirate-themed decor... so creative! So much to do in one little place, but don't miss the live music in the lifeguard tower - shady outdoor seating with fans - the amazing custom mural inside - beer to go if you run out while you're on the beach!!! (across from public beach access at Greensboro Ave.) - huge selection of local and other craft brews/wines/seltzers/etc. And the best perk is that the owners are present and always friendly to long-time loyal customers AND vacationing beach-goers alike! Stop in to support your local firefighters! Scallywags' sister establishment is Buddy's Crab House on the water so hit them BOTH up for the perfect day!
