The owner Marie is wonderful! She takes the time to recommend the perfect wines, and the prices are great. A cozy spot to sample wines before heading to dinner nearby! I especially love the art on display, and Marie's pleasant and friendly advice about her extensive wine collection.
Huge selection for such a small venue. Marie is a rarity in that she is very knowledgeable in both old and new world wines and carries them too. Expert in bubbles and a true oenophile! The atmosphere is Island friendly and she has excellent bread, cheese, and tapas items to pair with your wine tastings. If you love wine, you will love Sauer Grapes!
Marie Sauer is an incredible hostess and has a spectacular palate for showing her guest’s a fabulous time. Her tactics may not always be traditional, but she always has her guest’s and wine drinker’s best interest in mind. If you are looking for that one special bottle at an extraordinary price or entertaining a party of 50 close friends and loved ones then rest assured, Sauer Grapes is the place to go.

Sauer Grapes is a great spot for the novice wine drinker and the connoisseur. Marie is extremely knowledgeable, has a great selection, and can beat any prices around. Such a great deal. Oh, and the membership program gives you access to tons of wine dinners and free (or discounted) tastings. Highly recommended.
Marie hosted a fabulous wine tasting event tonight! She did a great job planning between two events and making sure both groups had the full experience. Thank you for everything! We were the 6:30 party of three next to the front door.

You may have visited many wine shops or just a few but your expectations of a wine shop can't prepare you for what's to come when you grasp the handle of the door to this shop. The lights are low when you enter. As your eyes start to adjust you begin to notice case upon case of wine surrounding and towering above you. The glint of light from each bottle, colored by the gems within, sparkle in the corners of your eyes. As the bottles come in to focus, you see groups of wine from near and far... some from places you might only ever visit in your imagination. From the corner comes a voice welcoming you. It’s Marie, the owner of Sauer Grapes, Sauer being her family name. As you begin to look around maybe not quite sure exactly what you want, Marie chats with you. She disappears behind one of the shelves, reminiscent of the wand keeper in Harry Potter, she conjures up the bottle of wine you had on your mind but couldn’t describe. The wizard of wine. You won’t be disappointed visiting this magical shop on Daniel Island.
Awesome little wine shop! Huge selection with the ability to order some wines if she doesn’t have them on hand. The owner is great, very knowledgeable! They have many fun tasting events here as well where they actually have a great selection to try. Great prices as well. Highly recommend
