My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary when we spotted this beautiful tasting room. We enjoyed it so much we visited two days in a row. A big thank you to our hosts, Tatiana and Kristian, whom were both very informative and welcoming. We came home with several bottles each of their Cabernet Sauvignon and Verdelho! A wonderful place with an elegant vibe.
We visited Sanger Family in downtown Solvang this past Monday. What a find... First, it was open until 7pm which was nice because we were able to taste wine plus watch the opening night of NFL. There tasting room is rather large with different areas where people can hang out. They have an outdoor area with a few fire pits, and then inside they have a bar area, seats and tables, and then a nook area with another area with seats and tables. Great layout.
There are 3 brands that fall under the Sanger Family. We had some very nice Reds.
The customer service here went above and beyond. Christian was our pourer, and he did an outstanding job. He had a great story for each wine, and recommendations of various foods to eat with each wine. He also had some recommendations on some library wines, of which we took several home.
Really a great place to hang out and taste. Will be back.
Great wines, lovely ambiance and Tom was awesome! Super accommodating to our group and had some great recommendations for the area! Planning on coming back and do recommend
The outside ambiance was very nice as we enjoyed a fire.
We ordered wine tasting- 4 flights. The pours were very
" chen-ze". Not 2.5 ounces as standard wine tasting SHOULD BE. Hardly any wine in the pours...to add to it- the server was not knowledgeable of the wines. She said one wine was from Italy, my niece having just returned from Italy , ask her what region of Italy. She didnt know yet rambled on which made her appear unknowledgable . to add insult to injury; she took too long to attend to our party between pours. We also ordered a cheese plate. Was terrible- a school cafeteria would do better. The crackers were stale. It wasn't even presented nicely as they had olives in little plastic cups- similar to what you use when drinking Nyquil. A total disappointment. While I like Solvang- out of two back to back wineries this trip that both disappointed me- I'll stick to indulging in pastries.
My brother and I traveled here last year and had the most amazing time at this establishment. Our server, Tom, was quite possibly the best and amazing server that I have ever had. We ordered both the red and white wine flights, and had talked in depth about the wines and pairings with Tom. He even helped us with tasting various olive oils along with crackers. I bought a balsamic vinaigrette that night because of the tasting. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and i yearn to go back to this wine tasting room.
