I grew up in Brown Hill, hence l am no stranger to Sandy's famous Fried Chicken. There were nights when persons from all around the island would stand in line for more than a half hour just for a taste of Sandy's Fried Chicken. We happened to be in the area a few nights ago when that delightful aroma entered my nostrils. Said to my wife, that is Sandy's Fried Chicken; have not had it in many years. She insisted that I get one for me and one for especially since she never tasted it. When I arrived, there he was Sandy "Sugar bowl" De Big Man monitoring the chicken. We greeted each other and told me to give his best to my mother as well. While waiting for the chicken a local fisherman stopped by and we all had a laugh. Seeing is daughter and granddaughter there reminded me that Sandy's Fried Chicken is and has always been a family business. Clearly it will be passed from generation to generation. I love that about this business. All in all Sandy's Fried Chicken is not all about food but family togetherness and laughter. I went there for food and got laughter as my bonus.
