Very nice place. Food is good and the service is too. Locals frequently gather there, so you get to find out about what is going on. Highly recommend this diner for some good breakfast! THIS is a diner! Great place for a hearty hot breakfast on a cold morning or brunch/lunch on the way home from morning chores. Pleasant service and properly prepared and plated dishes served promptly. The only negative? We didn't try it sooner. Took my wife out for breakfast. Food and service was good although I ordered the western omelet with extras. I was charges $5.00 extra for homefries that should have been included. My wife ordered the spinach adrift to only not get the homefries that was also included. Upon checkout we were also told of a 4% upcharge for credit card use something I wouldexpect from a gas station. Not very impressed with this diner. food is ok, but what really irritated us, was at the time of payment credit card payment would be a 4% surcharge, absolutely ridiculous. go to the sandy hook cafe, around the corner, better food, better atmosphere, and no 4%. p.s. the bill was $22. Very unassuming from the outside. Dining room and counter seating. No clue what the dining room looks like, we sat at the counter. Great and friendly service. Inexpensive and good food. Quaint, small-town hospitality serving delicious food with warm friendliness. Attentive service, ample portions and a very homey, comfortable atmosphere. Love this diner and highly recommend it. Our breakfast this morning at Sandy Hook Diner was superb! I especially loved the crispy Hash Browns that came with my eggs as well as my husband’s extra fluffy & tasty pancakes! the service was quick, the prices were reasonable. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10
