The Sandpiper is one of our favorite restaurants. There are so many items to choose from, We have had the Halibut, Chicken Oscar, prime rib, steaks, etc The desserts are also very yummy. They have a full bar and in the Summer you can sit outside right on the Snake River, Great food and awesome scenery! Food was very flavorful. We ordered the bread, spinach dip, coconut shrimp, steak, baked potato, mashed potatoes and berry cobbler, and all were fabulous. I did order the steak medium and it was practically mooing when it came out and had maybe a 2 minute sear on each side. It still tasted fine and that was my only complaint. Fantastic restaurant. Crusted halibut, sirloin, ale battered shrimp, and steak sandpiper (bacon-wrapped filet with sauce) were all fantastic. Staff is very friendly, good service - one steak came out cold but they heated it up for us. Bread is complementary but was not brought out until we asked. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Surf and Turf
Fantastic place for food and drinks. The Manhattan's were strong and tasty. The prawns appetizer was incredible, went with the coconut version. I've had the halibut before and it's been incredible but I went with fish and chips this time. Perfectly fried and tender. Probably best place in Idaho Falls. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna

Not sure if I will go back. I've eaten there several times and the food and service were great but this last time both my son and I got the ribeye pork chop our favorite. His was fine but mine was much smaller than his. When he saw it he said wow you got ripped off. Normally I have take home this time I left hungry. I was planning on going there for my birthday but I m not sure I want to risk getting another small serving for how much it cost. The company I work for hosted a Christmas dinner here, for all of us employees and a plus one. They had a nice, quiet room in the back that was perfect. The food was great! I had Salmon. I loved that there were multiple ways to have the Salmon cooked. I had mine grilled (I think). It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I will say that for the prices I expected that you would get two sides or a side and a salad. However, those were extra. Still it was a very nice place to eat. We did share a berry cobbler. It was a large serving, so sharing was a great idea. The service was amazing! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Our server Riley was very attentive and friendly. Appetizer (ahi tuna) was good, halibut was a large portion, salad was delicious, chocolate mousse was a nice ending to the meal. Sandpiper is a solid staple of a Idaho Falls when it comes to dependably high quality dining! The location along the river makes it a relaxing and lovely place to have dinner in the spring, summer, and early fall months! If you want to eat outside when the weather is lovely, do get their early though as it’s popular and fills up quickly! The service is always excellent and the high quality and presentation of the food is always consistent. (Please not the portion size in the picture of the salmon is a HALF portion as I was sharing it with someone else.) I recommend the macadamia nut encrusted halibut, salmon, clams, as well as their steaks and prime rib. Their mud pie is also a special treat, but be warned—it really is best when shared between at least four people as it is massive! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Very good food. Of what I had. The Silk Panty drink was very good. The waiter was awesome. Very fun place. Sit outside by the fire. It was a bit chilly day so the fire was nice. Will definitely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

*skip to the bottom for dining recommendations * The sandpiper is probably the finest dining you can experience in Idaho falls. The sandpiper makes amazing seafood, and steaks with great sides and a great atmosphere. I noticed a lot of people complained about the wait time it took to get their food. You have to remember this is fine dining where the food is made and cooked to order! This is not fast food or a chain like Texas road house. They spend a lot of time prepping the food they serve before opening for dinner service, and they run out of food because it’s made each day. With that out of the way let’s talk about the food. My wife and I visited for our second wedding anniversary and we’re not disappointed!! I got the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly (med rare) and tasted absolutely delicious. The clam chowder is incredible!! My wife got the surf and turf with the halibut which she highly recommends. Overall the sandpiper is a great spot for some unique delicious food with a great atmosphere. It’s a bit expensive but you get what you pay for! What we loved: Rack of lamb (med rare) Steak Halibut Clam chowder The house salad Huckleberry lemonade Spinach artichoke dip What was “meh” Cheese cake left a lot to be desired for the price.
