Place recommended by Hotel. Not far from centre of Plovdiv. Arrived around 1pm. Was given 1 platter of Plov between 4 people with tomato and cucumber salad along with yoghurt drink. General impressions - Average Plov…you can have better Plov with better presentation elsewhere. Not many tourists at the moment but restaurant aware that tourists are being referred here now. We have eaten out elsewhere in Samarkand in nicer air conditioned restaurants. For what we had here it was grossly overpriced especially as there is no air condition and service is basic same as that locals expect. (They have an area which has air conditioning, which we found out after the meal. This would have been even pricier! ). Hence, price should be as per locals are charged. I’m not convinced this is price locals pay. The cost was 275000 Som around £20 for the plate. Although it seems cheap compared to European prices, for what is available locally this is extremely expensive. Taste was also average with fishy taste to the Plov which possible masked the true flavour. Not much meat for 4 people. Service from staff was good and quick. Most travellers recommend Osh Markezi , Sino street, which boasts local prices for tourists too. Will try this in next few days. Few days ago had meal for 4 people at Labi Gor….4 meat dishes ( As 4 Skewers ) , 2 beef Salads , plate chicken wings, plate fried, 1.5 litre jug of lovely lemon drink in beautiful air conditioned surroundings with excellent service came to 375000 ( around £28 which includes extra 20% charge IF you choose to eat in their air conditioned and fully serviced restaurant section. An option we decided to try out on this visit ). This Labi Gor restaurant was very satisfying from food quality, presentation, cost and service perspective. Advice… enjoy Uzbekistan before commercialisation and price hikes for tourists come in to play. Taxi drivers at airport have already started ripping off tourists. From what other tourists tell me, taxis from airport to city were ok up to around last year! No Taxi meter system in operation yet!! Message for local tourism marketing officials would be to control tourists being ripped off to maintain tourism for such a beautiful country that has so much history and culture to offer the rest of the world. Enjoy Uzbekistan! PS- second photo is from Labi Gor Meal type Lunch Price per person UZS 250,000–300,000 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

We ate Samarqand Plov and we all liked it. Appetizers are also good. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Has a reputation of the best plov in Samarkand. Definitely worth a visit! Come here around 12 PM to get it fresh out of the kazan. Small hint: the portions are huge, so I would recommend taking 1,5 for 2 people max (that’s the amount on the picture)
Delicious plov samarkand style. Perfect. You need to be there well before 1pm as they serve as long as the plov lasts. Not a touristy place which is a plus for me After finishing our trip I have to add that this was the best plov we had Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

Firstly note this is located down a side street to the right of the building Google says it is, and the sign has a different name on it. Came at 2pm after being turned away from another joint, and were lucky to receive a portion without queuing. Plov, salad, bread, and a large coke for 2 people cost us 105,000 som (£7). The meat was falling apart and the rice was plump and lovely. Only tourists in the place, as far as we could tell, and the boss was very friendly to us. Worth a go for sure! Really amazing Samarkand pilaf that was suggested to us by a local. I feel like this place is not known by tourists. Good service. Different types of salad available. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person UZS 1–50,000
Delicious Osh/Plov (maybe the best in Samarkand). Place where both locals & tourists eat. Large portions. Make sure to arrive before 1200 to avoid queuing. Price per person UZS 150,000–200,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
Best plov in Uzbekistan and that's it. Be prepared for 20 mins line and come no later than 12.00 PM.

Horrible experience! I don't recommend anyone to go to this restaurant for Plov rice. I waited with my family for >30min just to line up for NO Plov rice. The biggest issue is that the owners of the restaurant allowed for people to cut in line, while everyone that actually followed the line was literally screwed over. The service (or lack there of) was horrible. Apparently you have to give extra money to the waiters to line up on your behalf or for them to give you priority in the kitchen. No one knew about this, and even if I knew. I don't condone any such behavior. Finally, as a customer, you are disrespected and mistreated for a simple lunch. In the end we had to leave because there was no more food to serve us.... Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
