I’ve been driving by this place with the intention of stopping but never did for several months. I finally committed to try Sam’s Southern Eatery and I was glad I did. The jumbo fried shrimp highlighted Sam's Southern Eatery are true to their name of jumbo, with a delightful crunch revealing the tender shrimp within. The catfish was lightly seasoned and fried, achieving a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness. I usually don’t enjoy okra unless it is fried hard and that is what they had. The Krispy okra added a unique twist, providing a satisfying crunch. The gumbo, a comforting medley of flavors, exhibited a rich blend that transported me to culinary bliss. Awesome little restaurant in Selma, Alabama. The service was fast and friendly. The food was amazing! Will definitely be back when I am visiting the area again.

They had a new item, mac & cheese, for $5.99 on the menu that we decided to try on this trip.
We received our order and no mac & cheese, no big deal, we just went back up to the counter to get it. We were handed the smallest styrofoam side dish container I have ever gotten with maybe 1 small ice cream scoop of mac & cheese. And to top it off, it was not flavorful at all. Total waste of $5.99.
