We did the tasting menu and felt this was a great way to try most of the menu. This was a satisfying amount of food. We loved the homemade pastas, particularly the cacio e Pepe. The duck confit and the pork tenderloin ramen were fantastic and the flavors all worked very well together. Really excellent service from the entire staff! Unique combinations for exceptional entrées. We both had the lobster bisque and rabbit with risotto. I was annoyed by a $4 charge for six 2- inch cubes of bread. Was also very noisy at times. One of the best places I've been to in Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor has to feed the masses. This place is not for the masses. Cocktails were awesome. We did the tasting menu and wine pairing to try as much of the menu as possible. Innovative dishes, farm to table, homemade pasta in the dishes. Crazy flavors. Look there's a grilled piece of fish and then their's Salt and Steel. Two totally different experiences. My wife and I went here for dinner. Honestly, we were very underwhelmed. Staff wasn’t very friendly, and they took a long time to bring foods, drinks, and check. We ordered 3 dishes, sent back one, and had a fourth. All 4 dishes were very bland and under-seasoned (ironic since they have “Salt” in the name). Because of the poor food and service, felt very overpriced and not the experience we wanted for a date night. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
