I had the pleasure of dining at this Mexican restaurant in Bar Harbor, and I must say it left a lasting impression. The restaurant's warm and inviting ambiance gave it a unique feel, more like a hearth than a traditional eatery. The food was exceptional, showcasing the rich and authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine. Each dish was carefully prepared and bursting with taste. From the savory tacos to the mouthwatering enchiladas, it was a delightful culinary journey. The cocktails were a standout feature, expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and precision. Sipping on these well-balanced concoctions added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The attentive and friendly staff added to the positive experience, making us feel right at home. In conclusion, if you're in Bar Harbor and craving authentic Mexican cuisine in a cozy and inviting setting, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won't be disappointed. Oh to have one of these margaritas again. They’re made from scratch with fresh ingredients and the perfect amount of kick! We chatted with one of the owners while we sat at the bar and he was incredibly kind and personable. Polished off our margaritas with delicious chips and salsa and homemade churros! This is a spot we’d absolutely return to right away when in Bar Harbor again! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Recommended dishes Chips and Salsa

If I was told that one of the best Mexican restaurants I’d ever have, after having it in CA, AZ, NYC, and even Mexico would be in Bar Harbor, Maine, I would have thought I was being told a joke. My wife and I had dinner and drinks here and everything was outstanding. The margaritas were carefully crafted (had the opportunity to watch Trent make them for us) and perfectly balanced in flavor, they felt great too. The food was authentically and unapologetically (the hot salsa is HOT) New Mexican style with influence from Southern CA and Mexico. The overall experience and style was reminiscent of a home cooked meal. We had the opportunity to meet the family who owns and runs the restaurant and they were incredibly warm and genuine, if they’re not too busy, say hello and get to know them. We highly recommend everyone try this place out if you can get a seat as this will be a staple in Maine and the greater Northeast. Thank you again, Trent and Lisa! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Read the other low rating reviews, particularly those that emphasize the lack of flavor in the food. I had high hopes for this place, but it really disappointed. The rice was mushy and tasted like it had no seasoning except for chicken broth. The beans were just wrong all around. They taste like canned chili beans, which just doesn’t mesh well with the overall flavor profile of the dish. The chips and salsa were good but that’s about it. The chicken in the taquitos wasn’t marinated and it was hard to chew and swallow. I hope they’re able to improve. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
A true mom and pop operation, we were served by a husband and wife, a son and a daughter. We also saw a grand child helping out! The food was excellent. We started with chips and salsa and guacamole. The chips are nicely seasoned, we got two types of salsa to dip, one was medium green and the other was spicy. It was definitely spicy! The guacamole was made in house, chunky and tasty, with a little spiciness but not too much. For mains I had street tacos. They were again, really nicely seasoned. I went for medium spicy chicken and added some of the spicy salsa from the chips to add a little heat. My wife had the sopaipilla (I may have butchered that) with vegetables and rice. It was served with a side of refried beans and a bottle of squeezable honey. New to either of us, She loved it! The sopaipillas were soft and doughy (like deep fried flaky pastry) with pockets that you can stuff food into. Really good. On top of it all, the mag héritas we ordered were amazing. I had the classic, it was made with Cointreau, lime, agave and I asked for mezcal. It was on point. The owner was very friendly and a great host. We will go back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We were in the mood for something different than lobster... We love Mexican cuisine, so when I checked the menu, I knew we should give it a try! I had the steak street tacos, model especial, and an elote (roasted corn, Mayonnaise, chili, and cotija cheese) and it was delicious! They make their own tortillas, the steak was seasoned, and the salsa was the perfect heat. This place has the best margaritas in town and I wish I didn’t have to commute up and down the entire eastern seaboard to get here. Food is delicious and the staff is awesome. If you go anywhere else for margs in bar harbor you are foolish. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Margherita

Delicious food, amazing margaritas, and lovely owners. We had the chips and salsa, chicken enchiladas, and pomegranate margaritas. All fantastic! Then the chef brought out samples of their street corn- best I’ve ever had!! Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. So happy to have you in town! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

We were so excited to have a taste of the Southwest in Maine. A ladies lunch on a hot summer day, we had been talking about it for weeks. We read the hype and were looking forward to this meal. However, sadly we were let down! It was extremely warm in the dining area (we saw a table of 5 leave before ordering). The server was not terribly friendly. Also, it was a somewhat limited menu. But, who can go wrong with tacos right 😳…well, the only thing that I enjoyed were the beans, I dunked the tasteless rice in the beans, so that worked. Tacos were horribly dry, cubes of dried out meat and lettuce with a cheese garnish…we asked for sour cream and/or guacamole (nope he said). !!!! The photo I have shared is the remnants of me trying to eat it. Server asked at the end of the meal how things were. We were honest! He presented the bill without an apology or an excuse. Don’t waste your time here ~ there are better/more enjoyable places to eat in Bar Harbor, I can’t imagine they will stay in business long. $50 for a horrible meal/lunch ~ Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
