Quaint little restaurant in the center of historic downtown Huntley. Have tried both the thin crust and deep dish pan pizzas and found both to be of excellent quality and taste. I called for a delivery order tonight. I tried to order a meatball sandwich with onions and the girl who answered the phone said they were told they are not allowed to put onions on that sandwich. She then said she could do peppers, but not onions. I offered to pay an upcharge - still no. I asked if I could order a side of onions - no. I asked if they even had onions and she said they did but she could not help me with my request. What kind of a cheap, micromanaging tyrant of a boss would make such a dumb rule?! Originally living in the city of Chicago, I am SUPER picky about my pizza!!! I don’t like the “chain store” pizzerias at all! They taste like tomato sauce on cardboard to me. Sal’s Pizza on the other hand by far is the closest thing to what I consider a true “Chicago Pizza” experience!!! It is the most delicious pizza in this area that I have had. The staff is pleasant to work with, and try their best to get special orders correct, even if your husband asks for some ridiculous pie shape cut when he orders! The food is on time, hot, and fresh. Unfortunately, we are not in their delivery zone so I cannot make a comment on that, but I will say for me…ITS WORTH THE DRIVE!!!
