Beautiful decor and vibe, however the food and drink are quite underwhelming and pricey for what you get.
First of all the look and feel of this place is great. On the top floor of the cafe (but below the bar), you get air conditioning which is a welcome heat from the oppressive temperatures and humidity of Phuket!
We went for an afternoon tea experience. We ordered a couple of desserts and drinks and they all looked spectacular but all but one of them were a disappointment.
First was a coffee bean inspired bun which had a coffee flavoured custard/filling in the middle. Unfortunately, the custard was quite bland and lacking in coffee flavour but also not sweet enough to be a nice custard. Somewhere in the middle and not very nice.
The second dessert we ordered was a coconut and mango concoction served in a jar. This was the highlight, with beautiful sweet coconut taste which balanced out the rather tart and sour mango flavour.
For the drinks, we had a coffee infused with coconut. Sadly, for our tastes, those two flavours (coffee and coconut) did not go together. First impressions after taking a sip was that you had to really think about whether you liked it or not, as it was neither what you expect of a coffee nor was it what you wanted from some sort of other (perhaps sweet?) drink. I took several sips and came to the same conclusion each time. I did not like it, and the flavours of coffee and coconut do not go together (for me).
The 2nd drink was a mango smoothie. Unlike the many other mango drinks you can get in Phuket, this was quite sour and tart. As someone who finds the many shakes and smoothies that you get on the streets of Phuket too sweet, in this case, this smoothie was too sour. The kind of sour that makes you wrinkle your face and purse your lips!
The place promises a lot visually however the food and drink were largely a letdown.
Top quality. Really wide range menu. The chicken was excellent and 180 baht is a good price. Lots of healthy options. 3 floors of seating. And wonderfully friendly staff especially the pretty girl.
I would recommend
Restaurant located under a thatched roof and provided with many fans to relieve the customers from the heat. We had a simple lunch with rice, pad thai, spring rolls and some other dishes. We think this is the cheapest place to eat in Rawai, since each dish is 50 baths and each sea food dish is 60 baths. The personnel is kind and understand English. The only weak point is that it is located on the top of a small hill in front of a busy road, where tourists don't actually walk; and this it makes the restaurant accessible only for people going by motorbike or car.
Great happy hour prices. Some of the worst music on the planet and rather unfriendly staff. However, the bar dogs are friendly, so it's worth visiting. I suggest drinking here, then going somewhere else.
Relaxing bar and restaurant with high ceilings and a natural breeze throughout. Right on the road with plenty of parking but still has that Rawai jungle feel. 3 pool tables and very attractive prices on food and drinks help make this place a winner! They have a big screen TV and love ice hockey too...
Unfortunately, this restaurant has closed. The bar is still open.
The restaurant is located under a charming thatched roof next door to the bar. Really good Thai food at local prices of only 50 baht per dish. Thai favorites like papaya salad made with fruit plucked from the tree in their yard, green curry, Thai omelet and more. Free WiFi, too! Alcoholic drinks can be ordered from the bar. Parking in front. Laid back, relaxing vibe away from the tourist crowds and prices.
