My best girl and I waited for ages for this gem to open, and we were not disappointed!
The menu is unique, and the portions were generous. I ordered one of the salads and opted for additional spiced shredded chicken. It was a lot more chicken than expected and I was stuffed! Yum!
My best girl tried a few custom tacos and was so pleased with the table's hot sauces that she bought one (through Amazon) before we were finished: Carolina Reaper + blueberry!
Our server was top-notch, a younger guy with glasses. He was on the spot with perfect suggestions and a dash of enthusiasm.
Be patient with parking. It's somewhat limited, but the turnover rate is steady.
Highly recommended for those who seek out new food experiences in a beautifully decorated establishment.

“Rock Taco is a must-visit restaurant in Rock Hill, SC. The restaurant offers a perfect combination of traditional and street food with an extensive and curated Tequila selection. The vibrant ambiance bursting with color including custom art along the walls is a feast for the eyes. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is quick. The menu is reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend trying their Dirty Bird, which was flavorful and delicious. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Rock Taco and would definitely visit again!”

If you’re looking for some delicious Mexican food and or drinks in downtown Rock Hill, definitely check out Rock Taco. There were five of us at dinner and we didn’t order a single thing we didn’t like. The atmosphere was awesome - I’m glad the old McHale’s building (both downstairs and up) is being used in a great way. The service was also top notch. The local hot sauce and live artist painting local art were also appreciated special touches.

We celebrated a family birthday here tonight. Party of 4. It was our 1st time and it was a PHENOMENAL experience! The food was out-of-this-world delicious (way to go chefs/cooks)!
(Seriously, we are foodies and it was GOOD)!!! Our server, Will, was very friendly & fun. The atmosphere was great, as were the drinks, appetizers and our shared dessert. We’ll be coming back soon (we’ll probably become regulars, as we just moved to Rock Hill). My husband will likely throw a work party here in their upstairs space.
We met the owner, Jason too. He was very nice.

Last night was our fourth visit for dinner and it's been nearly perfect every time.
Drinks: They have great cocktails and a solid beer list.
Atmosphere: We love the care they've taken with a redesign of a building that's been a restaurant for a long time. There are a lot of TVs upstairs, though, which takes a way from what could be a very cool space.
Service: Our servers and the bartenders have been friendly and helpful each time
Food: We've enjoyed nearly everything we've eaten. Portions are large, so we don't find ourselves ordering appetizers. The Dirty Bird is so, so good. One of those dishes I'm sure I'll find myself craving. Funky Fresh Fish and Grits is good--different, but great flavor. The only miss we've had are the flautas--the filling seemed to fall out during cooking, which made them a little disappointing. Trying a selection of tacos allows you to sample the elements of main dishes before choosing a more substantial meal.
We really love this place. We'll be back for sure. It's a great addition to some other fantastic restaurants in the area.

The Dirty Bird
The food was really good, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly. The menu prices are well, more than I anticipated.
With so many great Mexican restaurants in Rock Hill, Rock Taco has entered a tough market. This feels very familiar to the time a local brewery tried to open a high end taco restaurant near Riverwalk.
Would I go back to Rock Taco, sure. Will it be my first choice for Mexican or tacos - nah.

We went on a busy Saturday night and still felt like we had good service. The staff was all friendly and quick to take care of things. The food was all good. For the table we had some tacos, street corn dip, queso, and rock taco salad with tuna. The street corn dip and the tuna was definitely a stand out to us. Everything was cooked/seasoned well and came out quickly despite a 30 min wait to get a table because of how busy they were. We will definitely be going back.

The food was excellent. We live in Pa. And just stopped in for drinks Stephanie the bartender was so sweet and welcoming we decided to stay for dinner Derrick our waiter was excellent. There were 7 of us and with appetizers drinks and dinner it was so reasonable. The decor was amazing the pictures on the 2 nd floor were amazing. We were told they were done by a local person

We went to try the place after waiting a long time for it to open. I saw some of the negative reviews, but I can only imagine how hard it is to open a new place. Plus this is the same owner as Burgers and Barley which is pretty reliably good. The atmosphere is a 10, and they really put a lot of money into the place. Our server Aleah, surely spelled wrong, was fantastic. I got the fish and grits and my wife got the shrimp quesadilla. It was nice and hot when it arrived. We had a few drinks as well. We are big tequila fans, and this is the only place I have ever seen that has legit tequilas at the bar. I saw Fortaleza, El Tesoro, Codigo, Arrete, and many more. If you know, you know these aren't at most bars. On the way out we spoke to the owner and he is super kind. Our table was on the second floor and had a great view of main street. To the guy in the silver Porsche, we got to see you try to parallel park. It gave us all a good laugh.

Funky Fresh Fish N’ Grits
Hated we waited for so long for this place to open and was disappointed! The salsa needed more flavoring, the chips were salty and the menu isn’t very kid friendly. Definitely can’t be picky coming here. Spent over $60 for lunch. We were 1 of 2 tables being served in the whole restaurant and my plate did not come out with my family’s. By the time my plate was served, my family was finished eating. However, the server was fantastic and communicated very well!
