I'll start with the good. It's new, it's a place I consider "soul food". It has potential, and makes me think one day they could be somewhat close to Mad dog in Kane, PA. The "off" part of it. The "Gourmet" hot dogs, they're not bad, I had the Colt and the Jojo, but they're not what I consider gourmet. Basic buns, basic dog, just with toppings, in my experience with gourmet hot dogs its above and beyond toppings. They were good, I'd get them in the future, but misleading. Priced fairly. The smash burgers were fair as well. Not the best, but for the price and quality, they were also good. Food has a ton of potential here. The chips that come with them, bland. and this is where the experience changed. When We went, the waitress was new. I don't remember her name. She was the only one working the front, with whom I'd assume is the owner in the back cooking. She was great, friendly, and did a good job. My cousin had asked for his chips to be seasoned. She was new, she didn't know the owner/cook didn't do this. We overheard him yelling at her from the back about how he doesn't include seasoning the chips as "he can't recoup that money" Everyone in the business could hear it. She came over and apologized and frankly we felt bad for her. She didn't deserve that behavior from him. Then another female (assuming the owners wife) came in and started packing orders as he made them. When she placed them on the rack to go out she told the server, who was assisting another customer at the time. Fair enough, order up. It's the fact that within a minute, she proceeded to tell the waitress that it's gonna get cold if she doesn't drop them off to us now. Mind you, she was currently taking an order from a customer. Again, we heard this. After seeing how she was treated by the (assumed owners) we decided she didn't deserve it, we tipped her extra off the side just incase the owners dip into it. To top it off, we used a whole bottle of ketchup to season our chips. Hope you worked the cost of the ketchup into your recoup, which I'm sure was more expensive than the 5 cents of seasoning you would've used. Frankly, might go back. If I see the same disrespect for employees, a simple google review won't be the only place I'll make it known. Customers see how you treat your employees and it can make a huge difference in their experience at your business. Step it up, be better.
