It was horrible. My grandma wouldn’t go here.
To give some context, the customer service was not the best. My friends and I went there and before we were able to order anything, they kicked us out. It seems as though they wanted us to buy something immediately. But we wanted to wait a few mins to look at the menu and determine if this is a place we want to spend our money.
Kinda seedy and local, but the beer lady was so friendly to us as foreigners. We always come here when in Hualien, it’s certainly not trendy but it’s unpretentious and has some character especially when full of locals. Bit pricy.
Nor sure if I should recommend or not... maybe give it a try?
Not much is happening until 11-12 o'clock when mainly middle-aged people, friends of the owner start to flock in. There's a DJ from 11:30 til 1 am and he plays the regular pop tracks, but is a friendly guy and he was the only person we talked to in the bar.
Worst bar experience in Hualien ever, a malicious gang of at least six Taiwanese hooligans took our bottles in their hand for no obvious reason except for us being a foreign and Taiwanese combination, and surrounded our table and threatened us of just 4, while the bartenders stood on their side and accused us of causing a scene trying to defend for ourselves, saying no one in the bar would be so violent, and that they were all “brothers” of theirs, demanding us to point out who they were after the gang have already scattered into the crowd, unbelievable and disappointing.
