For those visiting Taiping, this restaurant is a must visit, especially for breakfast as they serve hearty local cuisines. Must try items are their own Kakak bing (local beverage), Hokasai (local beverage), kuey teow noodles soup and wanton noodles. Based on personal preference, some might comment that the food is not as flavourful or heavily seasoned, but that's the way to savour the freshness and effort placed in cooking. The waiters and waitresses are really friendly, even the lady owner will happily assist you if you need recommendations. Do note that parking here is really tough to find, and definitely must pay if you park, or else risk getting fined with summons. Classic local cuisine worth a quick trip to if you're in Taiping. Restoran Kakal serves a staple dish being hor fun noodle with shredded chicken and bean sprouts, with pork balls and other additions if you want (they were out of stock of those when I went). They also serve a unique Nescafe with barley drink - smooth with coffee infused with a local touch. Another popular breakfast shop for local and tourists, very crowded and few minutes wait expected. KoayTeow soup in nice and broth mixed well with sambal. Coffee is excellent and priced reasonably. Service is really efficient where food and drinks are served in less than 5mins after order. Will definitely come back again soon.

Popular place with locals good shredded chicken soup with two types of noodles, i think no other food options or just one other option . Coffee with barley is good too. It's quite busy until late breakfast hours. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person RM 1–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Shredded Chicken Rice Noodle Soup

The nga choy here is even nicer than ipoh nga choy!!! How is this possible?!?! Dry koay teow is very nice @RM4.50/bowl. Plate of liver is huge l. The kopi & teh is really really good too. Haven't had authentic flavour coffee & tea in a long time. Highly recommended. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast
Delicious and big portion! Definitely Will go back and taste again! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Reached there at noon and no customers at that time. Maybe they are rushing to close the shop therefore they asked me to pay bill first and I'm ok. One thing is they starting to clean the floor with soap while we are still eating so it's not a happy experience. Anyway kuetiaw sup is good but dry kuetiaw taste plain so must add chili. Ho Ka Sai is very nice. The famous nescafe mixed barli just taste normal for me. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person RM 1–20
