Nice place with delicious food. We had a perfect estapada which was enough for two and reminded us of our last years stay on Madeira. The prices are not that high as it is a local place, a bit further from the city centre. The only thing that wasn’t that good was the service. We waited pretty long for the food (it could be due to the fact that we came just after 6pm when it reopened) and the waiter asked us, if we would like some sauce to our salad, but then he forgot to bring it. An easy to miss place, restaurant Farol is definitely worth a stop if you have the chance to be in Ponta Delgada. The personnel is friendly and it is the perfect place to try some delightful local dishes. The bitoque was excellent and we also got to enjoy some of the local cheeses, accompanied by some delicious local wine. The prices are also quite reasonable so that's another reason to include Farol in your Ponta Delgada list.

The food was ok, steak wasn’t cooked well as requested. We requested a longer cook and was still bloody. Eating the edges was sufficient. The sauce and fries were delicious. The goat cheese app was really good too. Ps no kid friendly/picky eater options either. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

What a surprise we had a great dinner at Farol before heading back home. Service was good along with the food which was very tasty Good food good wine to finish a nice day in Ponta Delgada.

They had a sign placed out on their door that said they would open at 6 PM. It was past 6 PM and we asked if they would open soon. The lady said they would actually open at 630 to set up. They should fix their signs with a more accurate time so they dont lose customers. I went next door to eat since they actually opened at the time they said they would... A nice place with fast service and very good, fresh, and moderately priced food. Few steps away from the Ocean to enjoy the sunshine past lunch time. The menu offers a selection of various fish cuts and meat dishes, served with vegetables/fries/beans. English and Portuguese translations available.

To keep it short and sweet: the french fries tasted strongly of old fryer oil, and the shish-kabob, while mostly flavorful and charred well, had raw pork amongst the other cooked meats. Go at your own risk. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €10–15
