I genuinely don’t have enough good things to say about Chama - everything from the food to the ambience to the staff is top tier and unbelievably fantastic. We were really lucky that they were able to accommodate a last minute reservation and the tasting menu and cocktails did not disappoint in the slightest. The presentation and the flavor of the food were great on every dish and we loved the two cocktails we had. For the entire meal, the servers were friendly and lively, which truly made dining here a unique and amazing experience. I cannot wait to return on my next visit to Porto! One of the best experiences I had. There is no menu. But I can say everything was surprising, delicious, new, well presented and unique. It doesn’t seem like a fine dining place but it is. All waitresses, waiters, bartenders are so nice and friendly. If I’m not wrong there were 6 surprising courses. Everything I tasted was perfect, also wines and cocktails. If you are looking for a unique dining experience in Porto, this is the place and well worth booking in advance. The restaurant was was intimate and we were greeted with hospitality and warmth from the moment we entered. A fixed menu of 5 to 6 courses, was created in a tiny wood-stove kitchen, by the chef, and bookended by a complimentary cocktail and digestive port. Honestly each course was creative and delicious. ………Here are just a couple of them. Portuguese nouvelle cuisine at its finest! Amazing experience. Be sure to be super hungry because the multiple secret plates will satiate you with no doubt. Incredible tailor-made service, that restaurant -in which the 7 secret dishes made by the chef depending on what he finds eveyday- proposes also to create cocktails depending on what you like and want. Every plate was so delicious (several meat and fish dishes), very tasting and all the flavors where matching with eachother so perfectly. This is an intimate and cozy place. Love the energy of the staff. The chefs menu and selection were inventive and fun. The only caveat I would call out is the smoking directly outside the door and coming inside the table. It was so much I made me nauseous. It was an excellent culinary and social experience! You don’t know the menu in advance, so it’s always a surprise! You are warmly welcomed by the staff, and after you are seated, you only choose your drinks ! Excellent dishes, very balanced tastes, and great variety of cocktails and wines. This restaurant was the highlight of our trip to Porto. All the wait staff were very friendly and energetic. This restaurant does a tasting menu concept using fresh produce they acquire that morning - you don't know what you get in advance, but all the food was delicious and portion sizes were generous. We were completely stuffed by the end! The fish soup was my favourite - so simple yet flavourful. Must make reservations several weeks in advance as they do fill up quickly and don't take walk-ins.

So, it is officially my #1 place in Portugal! We are leaving tomorrow and my biggest regret is that we didn’t come to Chama earlier so that we would have enough time to do it again 😁 The concept is “surprise menu”. They cook something special every day based on the fresh local food their suppliers bring them that day. So you never know what to expect. The atmosphere is fantastic! I recommend you booking a table for 18:00, so that you can be in the first group of visitors. This way you will have plenty of time to communicate with the owner and the team, and probably with other guests as well. We had a great company of other guests from all over the world, talked and laughed a lot together. The food was amazing! Made of local products, it gives you a full range of taste sensations. Our menu contained 7 dishes to share + tasty local bread. So save space in your stomach before going there! 😉 Overall, I really recommend! It is a must if you are in Porto!
