IF you want a home-cooked local Uzbek meal, this is where you will find it. Traditional local meals, Khiva style. And the soups! they are to die for, extremely tasty, rich, satisfying and full of meaty goodness. Bone broths as good as it gets. It is just around the block from the walled city. Across the town park. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

We came here because of the good reviews and sadly the food was bad. Their lagman is some tasteless broth with a lot of potatoes and overcooked noodles. Kimchi is too sweet.

This is very lovely place, especially friendly staff there, we have been in Khiva Cafe several times for breakfast and dinner, it was very delicious, especially tasty shashleeks and plov, kazan kabob. The place is must go and you can add this place in your wishlist if you come to Khiva!!! Thank you (Fakhriddin is friendly chef of Khiva Cafe Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Portion for tourist is very small, like 1/3 or 1/2 in maximum, if you compare it with other restaurants. Price is almost the same with others. See the picture, the meat is more like slices instead of cubes. They also intentionally use a very small plate lol. Good quality, authentic food and cosy atmosphere! The beef we ordered for kebob was juicy and tender. Portion is very reasonable given the much lower price here than those inner city restaurants. For Kimchi (namely, pickled vegetable), the restaurant presented carrot in sweet vinegar, which I found refreshing and tasty. Shivit Oshi, a speciality from Khiva, has both beautiful presentation and authentic taste (noodles are colored green with dill leaves). The kebab was good but others were medium. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person UZS 50,000–100,000 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Mediocre greasy food although the people are nice and it is cheap. I will not be back. The location next to the road is average. But the problem was really the food swimming in the fat. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person UZS 1–50,000 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

The food was more expensive, less tasty, and in smaller portion than in others towns. We ordered a local soup, "shivit oshi" (local pasta), and a piece of bread. We received a half piece of bread (for 10.000 sums), it was tasteless, you can find the exact same bread 2min away in a small supermarket where it cost only 3.000 soms (the full piece). The rest of the food was similar, my soup was not at all as described nor like on the photos (consisting of a piece of fat with a bit of meat, a potato, an other vegetable I couldn't recognize, some water and some dill). The pasta were "ok" but again not at all like described and we received a complimentary long hair with the dish! Total price was 65 000 soms but the owner decided to round it at 70 000 soms ("service" was the explanation) The owners (probably husband and wife) were quite friendly. I don't often write comments especially bad one so I'm sorry to do this but I can't recommend this place and I really can't understand the good reviews (perhaps the owner changed or it's not the same cook everyday?) Good food, reasonable price, friendly atmosphere, English menu. I agree with all of the previous positive reviews about this restaurant. It is a relaxing no-frill type of restaurant where you can eat tasty Uzbek + Khiva food at a reasonable price. If you are on the hunt for "cheap" food, I wouldn't particularly recommend this place, but if you are in search of good tasting food at the family owned restaurant and willing to pay for it, then I would definitely recommend this place. The restaurant has English menu, so it was easy to order my food. I had Lagman in Tashkent and Samarkand, but the Lagman from this restaurant was by far the best one I've had in Uzbekistan so far. I also ordered Somsa that was juicy and flavorful. I initially didn't understand why it needed the sauce as it was great without, but the right amount of tomato based sauce on super juicy Somsa created an interesting flavor. I appreciate the sauce more after experimenting the amount of sauce to put on Somsa. To the owner: Is there a reason you don't list your restaurant on Tripadvisor? Restaurants for tourists in Khiva are very limited. I wonder if more tourists could enjoy your restaurant if you put it on Tripadvisor. I wouldn't have known about your restaurant if I happened to use Google map. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person UZS 50,000–100,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
