Restaurant Café Des Arts in Essaouira is a unique and charming place that offers an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is decorated with colorful cloth materials and interesting artwork, and there is live music every evening, featuring traditional Gnawa music as well as world-famous songs. The food is delicious, with a variety of tagines and couscous dishes, and the prices are very reasonable. The rooftop terrace offers a great view of the busy street below, and it's the perfect place to enjoy a mint tea and watch the world go by. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or an evening of entertainment, Restaurant Café Des Arts is the perfect spot.

Beautiful atmosphere with candle lit tables and live musician singing and playing guitar. Lovely decor and the terrace was nice. Delicious food - we had the spaghetti and the couscous and also tried the selection of “patisserie morocaine”
We had two vegetarian Tajins, they were fairly tasteless and some of the olives inside tested of dishwasher. We also ordered mint tea and it had so much green tea inside that it gave us nausea. We did asked them if they could make another one with just mint which they did and that one was nicer. The life music was pleasant (at times a little too loud). Overall food was too pricey for the lack of quality. Price per person MAD 100–150 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
If you are curious about Moroccan music and like Moroccan food—or seek a cozy but lively atmosphere—go straight to Restaurant Café Des Arts and hear their live music and eat their delicious tagine. If you’re like me, you’ll spend a couple of hours there. (We went in the evening; I’m not sure if they have music in the daytime.). I spent a week in Morocco (Marakesh, Essaouira, El Jadid, and Casablanca) in late December, and the evening spent at Restaurant Café Des Arts was the highlight of my entire trip !!! That’s why I’m taking the time to write this review. We started on the rooftop (because it has a view) but immediately descended one flight to the room where one musician was singing and playing gimbri (plucked string instrument) while another guy sang and played percussion—but surprisingly he was the same guy who took our food order just moments before. That’s how it is at Café Des Arts: Presumably a family-runned business, at any moment another of the food wait staff joins in, singing and playing hand drums or another percussion instrument, each one a competent musician in his own right. At one point there were four musicians playing and singing together; while at other times it’s only one (while others serve food). This is a marvelous one-of-a-kind place. Even the cook sometimes takes a break and sits down next to you to enjoy the music. And the food ! Oh my, this was the tastiest tagine I had in my entire trip, and the portion was huge. I also had an eggplant salad that I enjoyed. Don’t miss the opportunity to go to Restaurant Café Des Arts while in Essaouira. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Great little spot with a cool vibe. Stopped in for a quick lunch, reasonable prices and decent portions. Berber omelette was really good. The stairs to the top terrace are basically a spiral ladder, which is always good fun. You may struggle if your..erm..portions are also generous.
My wife’s tajine was very good but my bolognese was so overcooked that it was basically inedible. The excuse was “but its not a traditional dish”.. to which we said “then don’t put it on your menu”. He also didn’t give us back the change after paying. Live music was fun but very loud so you couldn’t really chat much. We walked away frustrated, unfortunately. The chicken tagine with prunes was delicious, the spaghetti bolognese was very disappointing- spaghetti was way too cooked and inedible. When I told the manager as he asked how our food was, he told me that the specialities here are morrocan- my suggestion then is to not offer any other foods. He also did not give me my change back, as politely asked. We walked away frustrated from our dinner experience Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
Seriously, people complaining about bolognese being overcooked. Why the hell would you order a pasta dish in Morocco? Come on, get out of your comfort zone. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Nice restaurant really tasty food, the server doesn't understand all what you ask but the food taste great.
We tried drinks : tea and juice. The place was quite empty but we waited 15+ minutes to get the order. Less than average drinks quality for relativelly high prices, teaglasses looked dirty . Service Dine in Meal type Other
