Satay celup is one of the famous foods in Malacca. This shop offers three types of choices: 1. Sharing the satay sauce, 2. Having the staff help you cook, and 3. Purchasing a new pot of sauce for RM30 (small) or RM60 (big). I recommend purchasing a new pot of sauce, which you can take away if you cannot finish it. You can also add more chili powder if desired. The sauce tastes really good, and there are many varieties of sticks. The boss and staffs are friendly and polite. They will help you to stir the sauce or control the fire. The shop is clean. It tends to be crowded, especially during weekends or holidays, so I usually go there earlier, around 4:00 PM. Went to the ‘new branch’ at the next unit. Shorter queue but was told by Malaysian friends that both stalls taste similar. The satay sauce was great. We ordered the new sauce, which costs RM30. Used ones are free. Each stick costs RM1.30. Variety was OK. The blood cockles were my favourite. The place can be very cramped. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Read good reviews of this place and decided to try for dinner. Reached the restaurant close to 6pm and it was already packed to the brim. The server directed us to the last available table and gave an introduction on what to expect. We had the classic satay broth which was on the sweet side. The sticks were kept in closed refrigerators and generous in many selections. The ingredients were plentiful and the proteins fresh and juicy. The liver was the best! Paid RM$40 for 26 sticks and 2 drinks. No regrets and definitely be back for more when we swing by Malacca. This is one of a local famous satay celup in Melaka. Need a long queue during peak hour or holiday. Satay sauce was good it's thick and with lots of chunky peanuts. It will be charge Rm30 if you need a new pot of satay sauce and btw Rm1.30 to Rm1.60 per stick. Overall everything is good and worth for a try 😊 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
New batch of satay sauce is provided at RM30 per pot. There's a large variety of the usual sepection of fishball, meatballs, pork, liver, cuttlefish, quails egg, kangkung, mushrooms, smoked duck, innards, cockles, etc. Just pick out the items from the chiller and cook on your own. The satay sauce is good and blends very well with all the ingredients. Would be our choice of place for satay celup because it offers the use of a new sauce instead of a recycled one. So it's way more hygienic. Initially was thinking that we would just have several sticks of satay celup. But don't ever think that and be ready with enough budgets for this place too. You won't know how many sticks you would end up taking and yup, for 2 of us, we had about RM 130 for the meal. Their peak hour is around 6 pm when people are there for dinner and also around 9 pm when people are there for supper. Talking about food, the sauce is good, and you can choose several levels of spiciness as well. A good place to try once in a while coz you won't be able to count your calories while you're enjoying the stick one by one. I dunno which Ban Lee Siang that I went to... But I didn’t enjoy as much as I remembered it. Maybe because of expectations... What's new is that they give an opinion of new sauce but pay at RM30. If a big group, then it is worth it. Even if both of us, no choice la... 😅 Not sure if I'd return... Maybe I would if I have a bigger group with me. The most popular place in Melaka for satay celup. This place has been around for ages, more than 30 years if i remember well. It is very packed even during weekdays and i would have to agree. The staff there are super polite and food is hygienic and delicious. Very clean environment. You have a choice of fresh sauce at additional charge or traditional sauce, ie recycled. We chose fresh sauce and it was topped up later. They should the mix to us before topping up - nice touch. You take what you want directly from the refrigerators. Waiters/waitresses are very attentive and give good service for everything else. They charge per stick and it also depends on the length of the sticks. The curlers are very nice with the satay sauce, try them. We didn't ordered the bread, in hindsight, they may be good too. Do be aware that you can easily over take from the refrigerators, so pace yourselves. It can be a bit warm as there is no a/c although there are plenty of fans Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

feel it is overrated. we opted for the 30RM satay sauce. and it was 1.30RM per stick. The food was okay, quite a variety but okay for its price point. The problem was the sauce, it was quite oily/diluted and the peanut kept sinking to the bottom. Not the usual satay sauce thickness i was expecting. It becomes jelak after you eat a few sticks. I got a plate of cucumber to freshen up my mouth abit. 4 ppl and we spent about 113MYR. Good enough to try once but not good enough to come back again.
