Guys, everyone staying close to this place has to check it out! We found it by chance walking along the beach. First of all, it is a normal simple Thai restaurant, i.e. no fancy interior design - just plastic chairs, plastic tables and roof over your head with some ceiling fans. Very clean but basic. Yet the food... it is simply the best Thai food we have tried anywhere close to Amber sands. It is authentic, it is very reasonably priced (check my photos) and the owners are lovely. We took one small portion of salad (100 tbh), one small stir fry (50 tbh) and one normal portion of soup (150 tbh).. we barely managed to finish everything! The food was amazing AND the amount of key ingredients such as prawns and squid was very generous.
IMPORTANT: if you do not like spicy food ASK for it to be less spicy. The assumption at this place is that you want a normal Thai, i.e. spicy, dish so “spicy” is a default position. You can change it but no one will be assuming your preferences unless you ask :)
BONUS: beers are 80 baht for a large bottle =)
Brilliant small Thai restaurant at the east coast of Koh Chang. It is located on the territory of a homestay and bungalow beach resort. It is very clean and neat and offers a selection of authentic Thai dishes for a very reasonable price. It is 5 min walk from Amber Sands and Serenity resorts and definitely worth visiting. The food is so much better and better than at the nearby resorts and the owner is lovely!
