About
After enjoying Lakewalk, go to this restaurant that is not far away. At 301, clients can have tasty fillet steaks and nicely cooked soup. Good wine is worth trying here. At this place, you can order food as a takeout. This spot is recommended for the cool staff. The fast service is something these restaurateurs care about. You may be surprised by fair prices at this restaurant. The homey fireplace and lovely atmosphere let visitors feel relaxed here. But 301 is not highly appreciated by Google users who provided it a below average rating.

Where to begin? Went for Valentine’s day with my partner and spent >200$ to be rushed through a mediocre tasting menu in a dining area that feels like a corporate waiting room. There was no privacy and it was quite loud, since tables were placed very close to one another to maximize $ output and minimize your dining comfort. The food was disappointing. Cauliflower “soup” was microwaved and way too thick. The mussels were so overdone they were completely dry, and way oversalted. Duck was also overdone. Like others have said, teeny tiny portions too. If customers are paying that much we should not go to bed hungry. Moreover I should be wowed by the whole meal, but I was instead disappointed by every dish. Also, while the tasting menu was advertised, they did not mention anywhere on the website that the special tasting menu REPLACES the regular menu. We didn’t know we’d be forced to do the tasting menu until we sat down. Should have left then, but I foolishly held out hope. All told, 301 is an excellent place to burn gobs of cash on a poorly prepared meal. Total rip off. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
Best specialty dessert I ever had. Can't remember the name it was a "special" it's not on the regular menu but it should be! It was a moist, sweet, delicious cake with fresh cream and berries. Oh my goodness could have been in a fancy French bakery it was the BEST! The food wasn't too shabby either! A little spendy yet well worth it for a special occasion! This is a very special place with great servers and awesome chefs!

We went for the Murder on the Orient Express dinner special they had running in conjunction with the playhouse production last night. The dinner was 4 courses, they were tiny, not filling at all. I went to bed hungry. The third course was duck. Normally I love duck but they overcooked it. The waiter didn’t ask us for a temperature preference they just brought it out well done. Gross. The duck was on top of a white bean purée which basically melted into the sauce and provided nothing substantial. So the overcooked, very tough duck was swimming in a bed of thin bean soup that you couldn’t get onto a fork. Sweet potatoes would have been a better choice. On top of it all, the dinner was $65 per person !! which they didn’t advertise on the menu and the waiter didn’t mention. I’m not cheap and I don’t mind spending money on a quality dinner but $65 for this is a ripoff! Duluth trying to be fancy and failing miserably…wanna be pretentious, yuck. I will say the dessert was very tasty but again small portioned. It also should have included an espresso or dessert drink/coffee option. I won’t be going back there. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Was our first time trying the restaurant & we were very disappointed. Spent $200 on 2 apps & 4 meals. Apps were okay, though the scallops were a little over done. As for the meals: we got a vegan pasta with garlic sauce, none of us tasted any garlic & the sauce was more of a paste. Not very good or pleasant to look at. The rosiotto was so thick I could have held it upside down without it moving. The chicken wildrice soup was bland & had more white rice than wild rice. The fish we got was over cooked & also tasted like it was boiled not baked. Then there was a lady at another table talking on her phone for 1.5 of the 2 hours we were there. Staff said nothing to her as the small dining room filled up. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was very friendly. As a local who has wanted to try this place out for years I was very disappointed & will not be back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

For the price and hype of sophistication, it was a disappointment for our 3rd anniversary. I ordered the bison ribeye, medium rare and it was unprofessionally cooked. Half was medium and other half was medium well plus not enough sauce to dip in. There was another couple there too and the husband ordered the same dish, same request which was also overcooked and he pointed it out to the server. If you're going to charge $44, cook it right. The risotto was mushy which didn't taste or look appetizing. The broccoli was the only thing that tasted good but for $44? I was only able to eat half my dish. My husband's salmon dish was a bit overcooked too but edible. I gave it 2 stars overall because the service was decent as the server took the dish off the bill. As for the atmosphere, the people at the bar were loud which ruined the sophistication of dining. I wouldn't trust and try the place again as the price is too high for mediocre cooked food. We were in the dining area. The bar is not separated. It is the frozen four tournaments. The bar was full of people celebrating, laughing, and talking very loudly. Some separation of the two would be so nice. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

I reserved the private dining room (no charge) for a party of 12. Food was good; everyone enjoyed their dinner. Dessert was beautiful. Service was great. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20
We went with what was a 5 course dinner for New Years Eve. It took 20min atleast between dishes which we only made it half way through the main and packed up to leave cause it had been 90min. Into service and we weren't hungry anymore. Two of our dishes came to us cold both of which we returned and one came back cold again ...cold scallop and short ribs isn't ideal for the $200 they charged us for the meal. I also ordered a cocktail which was ok although when I asked for another I received the same glass, straw, and what appeared to be the same squeezed lime from my previous drink. Who does that? The paper straw was already deteriorating why not put a new one and the same lime I squeezed into my first drink....come on. To summarize this was a poor experience for what should have been an elegant dinner with my wife for the holiday. We will not spend our hard earned money here again and reccomend others not too as well unless something changes. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
