The food was very good. I liked their house dressing for the salad. The pasta/potato dish I had was very tasty. Overall a very, very good eating experience. Also, both my wife and daughter loved the French Onion soup. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Arkansas Smokehouse Chicken

Nice local restaurant. The sirloin steak was very flavorful and had a great bourbon sauce. The roasted chicken dip was like a cheese ball, served with tortilla chips. The stuffed mushrooms were very large, with a generous cheesy filling. We were too full for dessert, but they looked delicious and decadent. If it’s your thing, they also have a keto “fit for life” menu. Parking is a short walk around the corner to a city lot. The building is an older charming brick building, much like you would expect in a downtown district. Some of the interior decor items could use a little freshening up, but it’s a great place if you don’t want to go to a chain. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
It's not very often I review 5 out of 5, but this restaurant was completely on point. Server was great, the food was amazing, even the food presentation was great. The atmosphere was calming, it was clean and had a relaxing feel to the whole place. Can't wait to take my hubs where he can try the Chicken Salad Sandwich, it looked amazing. I did their "dinner" salad and it was delicious, so glad I didn't get the larger version as there is no way I couldn't eaten that much. Great venue in a fun historical building. Food is a bit eclectic but still has that Midwest flair. I final had fried ravioli and it didn’t disappoint. The best part is their desserts. I don’t like sweets but their turtle cheesecake was FAB!!!! A lively spot for lunch. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I've been patronizing the Red Onion since I was 19 years old ( back to 2002), over 20 years now! Every special occasion in my life: Valentine's Day first date with my husband, college graduation, too many birthdays to count, anniversaries, work lunches, family in town for the holidays and more. The management staff are irreplaceable, wait staff are amazing, food is always excellent. The Red Onion is not just a restaurant and place to eat, it's a part of my life. So glad we have them in Joplin, here's to 20 more!!!!! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Chicken Dip

One of the best places to eat in Joplin! Get there early or there will likely be a wait. They have everything from soups, salads & pastas to fried chicken, pork chops & steak. One of my favorite meals is the grilled chicken Alfredo with the tiny fried onions on top. The coconut fried chicken is also delicious. And you can’t go wrong with the homemade potato chips! It’s a casual and cozy atmosphere. I recommend eating here! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30
