Wife and I came to Traverse City for an anniversary getaway and had lunch at Rare Bird one of the days. We had never been to this brewpub before and had a great first experience. We started with a small flight and some Lions football! We ordered the Mahi Tacos, Pretzel Sticks, and Smoked Trout Dip to share. The smoked trout dip was phenomenal! One of the best I have had! The grain mustard that came with the pretzel was awesome and the tacos were also really good! We will definitely stop here on our next trip back! Came here with a large group and we sat up on the big table. Food was really good my buddies love it here so I had to try it and I'm glad I did. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was solid. Really liked the cheese Curds as well. Drinks were great with a lot of different options. A solid stop in TC. They only had one small tv for the lionw game so if youre looking to watch a game this isnt the best spot. Will definitely check it out again. Being a bird fan, I was delighted to find this brewery. The atmosphere is great (and very bird-forward), the beers are creative and wonderful, and the food was scrumptious. The blackened Mahi tacos were especially enjoyable. Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fish Tacos
Super cool place and our Server was super cool also. I got the Pub burger and the husband and I shared the wings. The husband said his fried chicken tacos was awesome. But a big menu. Decent prices for food and drinks. The atmosphere was great. Kind-of dark though. Definitely give them a try. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

Had a relaxing lunch here. I got the portobello truffle fries as an appetizer. They were pretty tasty. The Parmesan cheese really made them pop off. For entree I ordered the Buddha bowl very delicious. Will come back again. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20

Have been here twice now; with a large group (December '22) and as a couple (February '23). Both times great experiences! Group of 8: Obviously with a larger group we had a little bit of a wait but it really wasn't awful for a Friday night. Service was accurate and timely, with the food being hot and delicious. Couple: Super quick, we got there about 20 minutes before the kitchen was closing and felt guilty ordering food. The staff was the opposite, it was no big to put in our appetizers and they came out SO quickly! Favorites: - Buffalo Wings! There is something smoky and wonderful about them and I could drink the ranch. - Pretzel Sticks! Don't sleep on these, super fresh and the dipping sauces are delightful. - Cheese curds - no explanation needed, they're cheese curds. - Guava Basil Bliss drink - beyond delightful and easy to sip right down Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+
The beer was good. Food was NOT. Very easy drinking. We had the Vajaha and the El Alemana (or something like that). I got the banh mi sandwich with fried chicken. The chicken was terrible - hammered as thin as a toothpick in some spots and way overcooked. My wife watched me taking a bite and it was so stringy and tough that i couldn't bite through the meat and pulled wit the entire sandwich. I wouldn't come here to eat. But I would come here for the beer. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Stopped in for a small bite to eat and a beer. The service was great, atmosphere was chill and the food was good. The only thing I would change is the seats at the bar, they are not comfortable at all. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fried Cheese Curds
Fantastic spot for a beer and burgers! Really impressed with the vegan/vegetarian options, there is actually more than one option on the menu which isn’t common but definitely appreciated. Drink selection was great too. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and enjoyed their patio, overall great experience and I would recommend for anyone visiting the area!
