My boyfriend and I went here the other day for a late Valentine's dinner. We both have been wanting to try this place since we heard they were opening a location in Folsom. The last time we had Rakkan Ramen was a year back at the LA location, which the waiting line over there was incredibly long. We were a bit worry because we got to the place 30 minutes before their closing time but they were still very welcoming. The interior of the restaurant was clean and modern looking. It had a nice vibe to it. We ordered the amber and spicy quartz combination with chicken karaage and gyoza. The broth for the ramen was very good and flavorful as expected. The noodles are the thin type which is my boyfriend's favorite. The chicken karaage and gyoza were also good. They only had one cocktail which was a yuzu cocktail and it was really good. I prefer sweet type of cocktails and this one hit the spot. The appearance is quite plain for the drink but the drink was delicious. The service was also very good. Our server was very attentive and refilled my boyfriend's glass of water a few times. This would be my other favorite spot for ramen aside from Fukumi in the Sacramento area. Just a heads up, the location is a bit hidden by a pillar when driving through the lot. Another thing to note is that this place offers vegan options and their broth is vegan as well. Delicious ramen with rich, flavorful broth and generous portions of meat and toppings. Their gyoza is also tasty and crisped to perfection. Rock on, Rakkan!! 😅 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Takoyaki
My partner and I came to RAKKAN for dinner and sat down at about 5:30 pm and had our order taken. We both ordered the Garnet ramen bowl, expecting our food to be ready relatively quickly as the restaurant wasn’t super busy. Fast forward 35 minutes, we are then served, excited as we were to start eating we were quickly disappointed in the foods lack of seasoning and quality for the price. Both the noodles and broth were very bland and seemed very watered down. I don’t recommend this place if you are looking for a delicious ramen with flavor. I’d also like to mention that there is only one waitress responsible for taking orders, seating people, serving food and even checking people out at the register.
