Rated five stars in the realm of street food, this pungent tofu earns its praise with a flawless frying technique. Queueing with a numbered tag is a must, and their sole offering is the perfectly fried smelly tofu. Served piping hot from the oil, the exterior is wonderfully crispy, complemented by the addition of well-blended fermented cabbage. Available in portions of 3 or 5 pieces, you can elevate the experience by adding their spicy sauce. I simply adored it—affordable and thoroughly enjoyable! Limited seat but worth a stol if you are nearby!

Excellent stinky tofu, must try if in the area if you like stinky tofu.
Perfect level of ‘aroma’ that you can enjoy while waiting in line.
Efficient order process to ensure it’s served hot.
The tofu is fried with skin that’s crispy but not tough, inside is still soft and tender. It’s topped with delicious pickles vegetables and additional sauces are available if you prefer them more spicy.
Tip: no outside sign, so look for the store with lines between the doughnut shop and shaved ice and fruit juice stores.

Excellent stinky tofu in a no-frills environment, with four dogs and many kids from the restaurant running around. We arrived 5 mins before closing and managed to get the last order.

we think there is such a thing as excessively stinky tofu, given the whole science behind the end product is fermentation. which means the bacteria/yeast has consumed certain aspects of the tofu and added its own waste which combined for the final taste and texture.
definitely not our cup of tea. dining companion also found it somewhat overpowering.
but the sheer number of people waiting was incredible, even though it was raining.

When I had trip to Yilan, and find this best stinky tofu I ever tried in Taiwan! The texture, radish and sauce all perfect. Even though I need to wait until 1 hour until I got my order, but the taste never goes wrong. Next time if I have trip, I’ll go here again. Big thanks to the founder of tis Stinky Tofu. Za
It’s very stinky, more than I have ever tried before but probably also the one I have liked the most. The tofu is fermented up to a point that its color is almost green. The texture is crispy outside and very soft and juicy inside. Once you arrive to the place take a number first, wait to be called and then place your order. The portions come in four and six pieces. If you want something to drink you can grab it directly from the refrigerators and pay it when you order. I recommend the traditional black tea prepared with sicklepod and wheat.
Visited 3 weekends ago on a Saturday. We arrived around 5pm. First you must get in line to wait for the staff to hand you a number. Then you wait for your number to be called to order. The line wasn’t too long when we got there, but we still waited for about 30 minutes to get our number. After we got our number (13, if I remember correctly), we waited another 20 minutes to order and pay for our food. It’s made to order, but after we ordered, we just waited a couple of minutes for them to prepare our order. The tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s softer then the fried stinky tofu I’ve had elsewhere. And the pickled cabbage and turnip is a perfect accompaniment. We also ordered a bottle of sweetened ice black tea, it was pretty good. I would go back again.
