Taiping has so much good food to offer but this eatery is not one of the best. They have a smattering of good stalls like the lor bak and pasembor but otherwise food is mediocre at best, place is filthy and it can get overly crowded during the holidays.

Ordered dishes and rice from Claypot stall. Basically they cook most of their dishes using claypot.
I chose thai squid, omelette and potato leaves. All good, and delicious.
Ordered Char Kway Teow as well, quite nice too. Laid on special leaf that helps with giving better aroma. Only found in Taiping. I don’t see this practice in other parts of Malaysia. Others tend to use banana leaves instead.
Just did not like the cleanliness, and due to rain the floor was so dirty and wet. Don’t look down while eating 😆
And ordering of drinks was complicated. You have to go to the counter to order and also check your area number / alphabet. Since it was inconvenient, decided to just eat and drink elsewhere with better environment.

Come here after zoo night safari around 9pm.
Walk in & compare with next door(big food court), we decide to come this one with more wok heat & atmosphere.
Vietnam satay at entrance is a must try.
Char Kuey teow is cheap (RM5) & nice.
Tomyam fried rice is also quite good.

I find that the location was the best. Just across the lake and nearby hotels and other sights. I would not say that the food was superb but it was decent and not half bad.

First time trying Curry Mee cooked by an Indian. The taste was awesome and I loved it. Also I tried Apom gula melaka. It tastes delicious. Recommended to try both dishes.

The drinks stall service is disappointing. Not efficient. Wasted about 20 minutes in queue just to get a few simple Kopi O.
Ordered and pay at the counter, expect to receive my drinks at the next station promptly. But NO.
There is a long queue for the collection.
Ok fine, festive season expect crowds...
Then comes my turn, and the drinks is not ready yet!
Funny thing is they do not know what is my order, and I need to repeat it again. They do not know how to read the order receipt too!
If want to implement this system, do it thoroughly, if not just go back to the old school way...

If you are in Taiping for a visit, pls come to this hawker centre for a varieties of nice street food. Tried the indian curry mix claypot rice which is good. Cost RM30 but still worth it as has mutton, prawns and squid. The big tom yum noodles stall is so so as tom yum tasted mild and sour only. The drinks are nice and cheap too. Taiping standard. Lobak stall is very nice as crispy and you get that nostalgic taste. Park at the opposite parking lot in front of the Taiping Lake and enjoy a nice and peaceful view here.
