To be honest. The food was terrible. My children got the tenders and fries and what they got was dried out flavorless tenders and burnt tasting fries. I got the queen steak meal. Coleslaw was gross and flavorless and the steak was the cheapest cut of meat and tasted boiled and I asked for medium rare it came almost fully cooked. No sear and was disgusting. So drowned it with ketchup to gag it down because who's going to pay $28 for a meal and not eat it. Wife's potroast meal was good. There breakfast items are always good and the atmosphere is amazing and the waitress did amazing for a lunch rush and being shortstaffed. Honestly, unimpressed. Was offered a 20% discount on the steak meal. But really wasn't worth the cost to begin with. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $50–100 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

I went out to eat with my Dad and my other 2 siblings and my sister-in-law. I had a breakfast deal, I got 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and home fries and coffee for $8.06 and that was including the tax too. Boy was I plenty full, let's say when I left. It was a Saturday night and it was really busy at all. I'd recommend this restaurant for sure. Best pancakes ever, monster sized, but not dry. Always flavorful. Side of hash could be a meal, and a good amount of bacon and sausage for the price. Coffee is nice, and refills come by quickly. Best part besides the master class, old school pancakes is the old school decor. It always ends up being the breakfast stop when within an hour of the Skowhegan area. I came here late Sunday morning based on the reviews and it was, at best, under mediocre. I completely understand that it’s the busiest time of the week to come, but what I don’t understand is why change the restaurant sitting protocol that is established at every single normal restaurant. Just to not have anyone address it is mind blowing. By reading other reviews too it isn’t very obvious unless you’ve been here before. Once the order was placed it took a long time to get the food. The hash was good but the French toast (pictured) was horrible. Just sugar and collapsing in your mouth and not in a good way. Very clearly the strawberries were frozen so it was weird to have hot French toast, ice cold strawberries and room temp syrup with melting semi cold whipped cream. Poor quality, not cheap, and very slow. I will not be returning. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20
This was our first trip to Maine and we stumbled across The Purple Cow - EPIC! Large quantity for the price, homemade and delicious! Staff were super friendly and professional!

The corned beef hash and pancakes are delicious! The pancakes weren't dry at all, and they are dinner plate sized. If you order more than one, be ready to take it home. Unfortunately had to take two stars off because the service was excruciatingly slow... We waited 45 minutes to get our food. 2 people that came in 20 minutes after us and got similar meals to what we ordered got theirs before us. I don't think it was our waitress's fault, she said they were training someone in the kitchen, but I still don't think that's a good reason for other patrons to be served first. We would go again purely for the great food, just probably not on a busy Sunday again.
Decent food with good service. VERY large portions. I couldn't eat all my breakfast and that's a rarity. Our waitress was very nice and super accommodating. She seemed to know a lot of the patrons which is always a cool thing to see. For a breakfast of 5/three the food was super cheap. Our coffees were always full. There's two separate seating areas and seemed to be seat yourself.
