Nice new pub in Somerville, thank you for a great addition to the neighborhood! Some seating is surrounding the pool tables and don't have views of a TV though. Cocktails are perfect for the price and if you get a seat at the bar, you have a beautiful view of a gigantic TV to watch any sports you please. Food is good too! Check it out Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Public Burger
If you remember Goodtimes in Somerville, Public Tavern is like a mini version! I literally had flashbacks of going there in the 90s with my friends, whether it was to play pool or just hang out and watch a game. Wings, nachos, Buffalo egg rolls and burgers round out great options for karaoke night or watching the game. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The only way to really describe this place is it is an arcade it's a bar and it's a karaoke place as well! Karaoke DJ Joe was there he's absolutely awesome and a good friend! He mentioned that I should be doing the national anthem somewhere in Boston I was very flattered by that! The atmosphere was electric the music was awesome! Made some new friendships there as well! Maybe sometime I could go back there again and see my friend Joe and also do some catch up with the new friends and karaoke singers as well! They definitely get a five-star rating from this singer! 😀🙏🙌😊 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wanted to go somewhere local and very glad I picked this place. The food was incredible the atmosphere is just what we needed here in somerville. Fun for any age. I thought we would just be having typical pub food but boy was I wrong. I had the steak tips and they were so tender almost melted in your mouth! If your looking for a fun time stop by.. We kicked off our evening by trying a couple of their cocktails, and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint. 🍹 I ordered the lemon drop cocktail, and it was a delightful balance of sweet and tart. On the other hand, the margarita, while enjoyable, was a touch sweeter than my usual preference. But here's the kicker – both drinks were only $10 each, making them a fantastic bargain! 💲💲 Moving on to the food, we decided to go all out with a variety of bar bites. The nachos were an absolute standout; priced at just $10, they were generously loaded with peppers, cheese, jalapeños, and came with a side of salsa that added a delightful zing. The value for money here was unbeatable, and I'd easily rate them a solid 8/10. 🧀🌶️🍅 Next up, we dug into the turkey club, which came with three slices of bread, lettuce, tomatoes, and crispy bacon. The accompanying fries were well-seasoned, and while they were good, they didn't quite reach the same level of excellence as the nachos. I'd give the turkey club a respectable 7/10. 🦃🥪🍟 Finally, we tried the potato skins, which were served in a set of three. They were pretty standard but managed to pack a punch in terms of seasoning. My only quibble was that they were on the smaller side, but they did hit the spot taste-wise 7/10. 🥔🧀 Overall, Public Tavern is a gem worth checking out, especially if you're a local looking for a great spot to catch a game, enjoy some arcade games with friends, and indulge in reasonably priced drinks and delicious bar bites. 🍻🏀🕹️ Food: 7/10 🍽️ Affordability: 9/10 💰 Ambiance: 8/10 🎶🎉 Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My visit to Public Tavern in Somerville was nothing short of fantastic. The establishment is not just a bar; it's an experience. The owner's enthusiasm and commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere were evident throughout my time there. The positive vibes in the air set the tone for a memorable evening. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern aesthetics and a creative touch, making it a unique gem in Somerville's dining scene. What truly set Public Tavern apart was the impressive array of games available. I found myself indulging in a variety of options. This added layer of entertainment elevated the overall experience, making it more than just a place to grab a drink. The creative flair displayed in the decor and menu further emphasized the establishment's commitment to staying modern and innovative. In conclusion, Public Tavern is not just a bar; it's a destination. We really wanted to like this place because there aren't many bars with pool tables near us and it's close to our place. Bear in mind that the pool tables need quarters to operate, and last time we were there, the quarter machine was out of service. I will say the service is good because the bartenders are very friendly and fast. Drink prices are also decent although advertising the "cheapest pour in town" seems generous. Mainly I think they need to work on the atmosphere of the place. Both times we've visited, there is no music playing unless you or somebody else uses TouchTunes to pay for music to play. I like TouchTunes, but typically when places use it, there's other music that plays in the interim in case nobody is paying for music. At this place, if nobody's paying for TouchTunes, there's just loud TV and silence. I would maybe come here again to play pool or other games if I was in the mood. The mozzarella sticks are pretty good, but again, it's $6 dollars for 4 sticks in a cardboard cup. I just think there are better places nearby where you'll spend as much or even less money and can listen to music for free.
The place recently opened. There are two pool tables and some video games. There weren't a lot of people there when I went for dinner. Music isn't always playing but while I was there 5 songs played, however, 3 of the 5 were Bella Ciao, I like the song but not that frequently. Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
