Visited on Superbowl night, it was empty. I am told it can be crowded other nights. Pizza: very good, perhaps not divine, but very eadible. Service - hilarious and quick. Overall, great vibe. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Love proto's pizza. I like the atomica pizza. Haven't got it in like 5 years but its so good I still remember what its called. Easily my top 3 most favorite pizza in colorado (because we all know colorado pizza is generally extremely bad, theres only like 4 places that are good in the whole county) Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I used to like going here but the past few times I’ve gone I was very dissatisfied with their service. Their bartenders were really inattentive especially when I was ready to order food they didn’t bother looking my way. I sat there for about 20 or so minutes waiting for one of them to at least check in and see if I wanted to order anything- Which is ridiculous since there was only 4 people total at the bar. Even just flagging down my check took them a while until I finally had to say something. Pizza is okay not anything special but the atmosphere is good. Wouldn’t recommend if you want decent service. When you pay ~$50 for two pizzas and there are only 7 pepperonis on your entire large pepperoni pizza it makes you think good grief I wish I had actually read all of the reviews before coming here! The only smiles I saw here were from the staff while they gossiped and laughed as we waited for them to take our order, bring our pizza while it cooled on the counter, and while they were ignoring us when we waited over 20 minutes (we timed it) for the check. Service like this makes you resentful when you see the "employee benefits" up charge on the bill. So, back to the pepperoni pizza, it is crazy when some of the slices don't even have pepperoni on them! What's the logic there? Are they eating pepperonis themselves behind the scenes? Ugh. I will say the atmosphere is kind of cute but the open concept is agonizing when it only enables you to watch the staff ignore the tables. Back again on 3/3. Then again, I've been here on Fridays for years. I may have a problem. Looking forward to eating some saucy clam! Update: still the best as of 2/24/2023! 119/2024: still awesome. This is my favorite pizza in the Denver area. The staff at the Broomfield location is the best, the location is nice, and so Proto's is the default setting for lunch for my work mates and I. And I usually end up taking my volunteer crew there for meetings, too. Throughout the pandemic, we kept going to get takeout pies: they'll happily half-bake them, and then you can finish them at home on your oven. We still do that, too. I prefer to preheat a gas grill (with some wet wood chips in the bottom) and bake them for 3 minutes at about 550°F.
