Ponko Chicken
Very cool place. Super clean and has a trendy atmosphere. Chicken is different from everywhere else and is really good. I didn't need sauce with it and I put sauce on everything!

This was truthfully some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. I had the ponko chicken with rice both spicy. The rice was seasoned fantastically and the chicken was super juicy and tender. The spicy sauce left a great flavor in my mouth without overpowering any of the other flavors. I will definitely find myself eating here again.

Employees were so kind & our food was ready in no time! They even gave a friend of mine a free side since she couldn’t decide what she wanted. So sweet— hard to find customer service like that nowadays! 10/10 rating!!

In Athens for a varsity high school competition and the kids were hungry - well starving if you know teen boys -afterwards so they ate next door, which wasn't my thing.
I popped into PONKO & was surprised by how great it was.
Simple menu with great food, fun vibe, awesome patio, and screens to watch the game. Great wings & rice. This is a fun place that's clean and near everything.

I was very excited to try Ponko for the first time because I had heard great things since they opened in Athens. While the staff is great and friendly, I'm sad to report that the food is bland and overhyped.
My husband and I both got the Ponko Plate; he ordered fries and a salad and I got the brown rice and island vegetables.
The chicken was decent. It was slightly over-fried but the texture and flavor was good. The fries had a good texture but lacked salt; the salad dressing (ranch) was runny and my husband said it tasted weird; the brown rice was flavorless and adding sauce did not do much to improve it.
The only redeeming part of my meal was the "island vegetables," which were cooked perfectly and had a great balance of flavors.
As much as I wanted to like Ponko, I did not, and will likely not return anytime soon.
On another note, management should relocate the tablet behind the register closer to the card reader so that it's more obvious and great staff can get more tips. I initially didn't tip because I didn't see the tablet. When I noticed it, I bought an additional drink so that I could leave a tip and then discovered you cannot leave a tip worth more than the value of the product, which is unfortunate in this case. A guest should be able to tip the wonderful staff as much as they please.

The OG flavor is so good and the people there are nice. Their environment is really chill and have party games that you can hang out with ur friends. However, I fell like the best food in this store is actually they fries. So crispy and tasty
Ponko rocks!!! As soon as I saw the Athens location under construction I was hyped and they did not disappoint! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is killer! My go-to is a 5 piece chicken with fries and rice
