The food has gotten much better. It does the job, provided my wife orders for me. I'm still waiting for Salsa Verde for the Carne Asada, but this isn't California. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. Amd the seating is nicely done. Public parking is not hard to find, and there is a parking lot across the street from the restaurant. I really think people come for the beverages and the atmosphere moat of all. Family friendly. The service here was excellent. The place was pretty busy but I was able to walk in and be seated immediately. While our server was taking our drink menu, someone brought chips and salsa right away; the chips were warm and the salsa was definitely freshly made, very good. The food came out very quickly and was quite good. I didn’t love the atmosphere, the lighting was on the harsh (bright white) side, if the lighting was instead on the warmer side it would have made a big difference. There is an outdoor area with fire pits that looked really cool, but it was a little too cold to check that out. I will definitely be back. I usually set my standards for a good Mexican restaurant by how good their salsa is. There's is excellent. The food was just fantastic. Need to check them out, I think you will agree. UPDATE 11 NOV 2023 Still my favorite restraunt. The margaritas are magnificent, especially the frozen strawberry mango! UPDATE: 18 OCT 2022 If you read my review below you will understand this review or perhaps even experienced it yourself. They have REDEEMED themselves! Went to "our" favorite spot and they was on point! The service was excellent the food was FANTASTIC! Texana Quesadilias, Bean Dip and chicken wings. I'll let the picture speak for itself! ********************************** This used to be one of my favorite places for Mexiacn food. Sad to sat the quality of food and service has gone down it is hit and miss now. Shrimp enchilada had what appeared to be one diced up shrimp per enchilada and was overloaded with onion and tomato - shrimp shortage??? The bean and queso dip was like soup - they water the queso down to the point its like water! Service used to be excellent, now you have to wait atleast 15 minutes to order and chase someone down for a drink refill. Not to mention they didn't even bring our appetizer - chicken wings. It took about 20 minutes ro get our food where in the past we was getting our food within about 5-10 minutes after ordering - would still be working on our appetizers. Wasn't even that busy. Sorry Mexicos not sure what happened but wish ya'll would get it back together. We really used to love this place. Enjoyed a recent visit on a Saturday night in September. Quite busy but were seated immediately outside. Service was friendly, but I should have asked for water right away, they don't bring automatically like they do chips. Large menu with selections you would expect. I ordered a steak and shrimp platter. It was cooked perfectly. Shrimp was the highlight on the plate, nice size and lovely flavor. The frozen margarita was amazing! Balance of strong but delicious! Would have been 5, but our table had a broken area, service was a little slow (possibly covering a lot of tables) and our take away for someone at home was overcooked/dry, but not much we could do since we took it to go ) If ever in North beach, would totally go again. Last night I enjoyed a wonderful experience here. I had the sampler appetizer and grilled chicken tacos. The food was seasoned and prepared perfectly. The staff was inviting and attentive. I was worried our server had too many tables to service. But, he was excellent. It was worth my 50min drive. I will return!
