Impeccable service and the staff try to give guests the best experience. The restaurant is set up to cater to a fine dining atmosphere and experience. There is a good bar menu as well. The good is tasty and the price is not too high either. The downside is that all menu items may not be available, but that is due to the supply of groceries being dependent on Mozambique and South Africa.
I used to love Planters. My waiter Augustine was fantastic. Unfortunately, last night I had another waitress and it was a DISASTER. The food took way too long to come out—which is not unusual for Swaziland but unexpected at Planter’s especially since the restaurant was empty. I should have known things had gone downhill. First, they tell me they no longer take reservations?? Then it was empty on a Friday night... except a table full of loud, drunk locals. We waited an hour for our food. Then a cook came out of the kitchen with one of our meals ON TOP OF A DIRTY, WHITE BUCKET.. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! They lied and said the spare ribs sitting on the dirty top of the bucket weren’t ours—they belonged to another table. After we refused the food off the BUCKET, two cooks stood in the food prep area and glaredat us the whole time we were trying to eat. The other four of us whose food did come could not eat with the cooks glaring at us. Like it was our fault they brought out the food from the kitchen to the prep area on a bucket—what else goes on in the back??? When I told them to stop staring, they smirked and continued to glare. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. My lobster was over-cooked anyway. We asked for takeaways. The waitress told us no. They no longer allow takeaways. Then she proceeded to argue with one of the diners at our table. That was the last straw on a haystack. We should have just left the food and walked out without paying. The restaurant is not a buffet. Why should they object to takeaways? Especially with the cooks glaring at us? My meal cost E275 and if I wanted to take home one chip and the garnish, she should bring it to me in a piece of foil, made up in the shape of an animal... like they used to when it was a real restaurant.
The food is delicious and the service is impeccable.
the price is so expensive
