I didn't eat anything, as I do not eat meat but I was there for a planning meeting. Everyone else devoured the food so I am sure it was yummy. The staff was so super nice and the cozy atmosphere was perfect, not too loud we could hear every one at the table even when the restaurant quite busy. A great new addition to downtown wilmette, definitely will be back and bring friends. Thank-you for being so gracious even when we stayed so late . Mediocre at best. Really wanted to like this place. Inattentive service got things off to a bad start. Burger was tasteless and on a stale bun. My serving of fries was all the little pieces instead of full cuts like I saw on other plates. Brisket was dry. 1st time coming here and was not impressed by the food especially for the price ( sandwich portion size seemed a bit small) My food came cold I decided to just eat it and leave as I was in a bit of a rush. We found Pit and Tap by googling Christmas bars in the suburbs. We fell in love with the decorations we saw online and we were not disappointed when we got there! We knew it would be busy the Saturday before Christmas but didn't mind waiting. We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff and put our name in. We were able to wait by the bar, enjoy yummy Christmas themed cocktails, and chat. When we were seated, our server was polite and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the brisket nachos, a burger, and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was so good!! We enjoyed the decorations and atmosphere so much that we hung around after we got up from our table to just take some festive pictures and enjoy ourselves. Probably the most joyfully decorated restaurant I've been to in the heart of Wilmette's downtown! If you go on a weekend you will wait for a.table for a while. It's worth it once you get your festive cocktail! And the food is delicious. The Smashroom Burger is probably one of the best burgers I've had in a while, although they are known for their BBQ. Service is fast and high tech. It is loud inside which seems to be a normal thing now in most restaurants in the area.
