First time here, the atmosphere was great. The patrons were super friendly, a mixed crowd of both young and old, too. Surprisingly, the bathroom was clean, just a bit too humid it needs air-conditioning since it's in the back. The security was super friendly. Dj was okay. I would recommend and would like to go there again, maybe a bit earlier too. We were only there for one and half hours. Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We've been to Pirates a few times recently, always for steak and have not yet been disappointed in any way. First time we went I had what might have been the best restaurant steak I've ever had. Next visit was very good, although not quite as stand out as the first. Went again last night as a spur of the moment thing and again, a most astoundingly excellent steak. Service. The service has been unwaveringly good. Also friendly and welcoming, no issues, available but not intrusive. Atmosphere is also pretty consistently pleasant. We don't particularly enjoy live music with dinner, but have found that the volume is such that you can actually enjoy the music and the food. I've been coming to cape town ever since I was a kid. One of my most fond memories coming to Cape Town were eating ribs in pirates. In the many times I've visited Cape Town since I have always visited pirates at least once and had the 700 gram ribs. Every time I go I fear that it will not be as good as I remember it and yet every time I'm amazed by the best ribs I've ever had. A huge bonus are the low very reasonable prices which I believe are under priced for what you get. It might not be the fanciest place and not in the best part of town but if you truly want to have the best ribs that you will ever have I recommend you visit pirates. What an incredible first experience for me. Have heard so much about The Pirates ☠ Restaurant and was not disappointed or let down in any way. Nest burgers in town. The chicken from the chicken salad was flame grilled with a delicious basting sauce. The manager was friendly, waitress was very helpful, food was quick, vegetables was fresh and the priced well. Will definitely be coming back again. I have found my new favorite restaurant. Since Friday nights also offer live music shows. Keep up the great service and don't change a thing! 1st time and last time. Decor very heavy an dark it's still in 1999... known for there steaks it was good and pricing matched. Plating and flavour concept out dated! The Chef lost passion. Service: that's tricky because different people looks/needs different things... what I am not looking for is an over sharer and complainer that the restaurant isn't doing to great and she is no longer happy. (Forgot her name) But between the out dated decor, the heavy atmosphere and the depressed server I understand why it's now a washed out watering hole with slot machines for the retired bunch getting into a time machine. This place might have been good in its prime, I can see that and have potential however average is no longer acceptable in a market that's ever evolving.
