First time I tried I had food in my hair(14 years old), decided to give it another go(30 years old) and a STAPLE! Nope, never again. This place is disgusting 🤢 🤢🤢 Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
We only got a bunch of appetizers but they were delicious. Surprised we didn't get a red envelope for lunar new year though. I'll definitely be back to try more. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We went last week service was terrible and so was the food. We left $80 worth of food uneaten on the table it was so bad. I asked for a vodka and Pepsi double and I got a glass of vodka had to ask for the soda. We saw people sit and wait for a long time and finally walked out. We almost did too but decided to give it a chance. Will not go back. It use to be the best place in albany we would eat there alot!! Unfortunately not any more. I usually don't leave reviews but this was so bad!! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

We ordered takeout and were disappointed overall. The service was okay but didn't give us an estimate of when our order would be ready. The food was mostly bland. The lo mein tasted like oil and that was about it. The sweet and sour chicken tasted fine but it was a whole breast instead of individually battered pieces. The beef and broccoli sauce had not flavor and honestly looked like it was just corn starch and water. The fried rice was good. This place is great, I was told it has new owners, but the food is as good as it was 30 years ago. It's tricky getting in the front parking lot (it's one way) but there's more parking behind. A good experience! A great value for the price. We had the lunch combo and the special and were both pleased with the price. The food was good, but unique. The flavors and colors were different from what I typically expect from an American Chinese restaurant. The fried rice was dark looking but didn't taste over cooked. The gravy on the Pork Foo Yung was the darkest I've ever seen, and while the gravy was good, the egg and veggie patty was not as dense as I expected. The chicken pictured was sweet and sour, but the sauce was orange and almost citrusy, but not quite. It was not my favorite, but none of the uniqueness kept me from eating it. The service was great. I do not recommend Ping's, didn't like it the first time we tried it 3 years ago but figured we should give it another chance. We will never be going back. For one, they only fill the boxes halfway for the BBQ pork and your main course (as pictured my short ribs are quite lacking). It costs more than any other Chinese in Albany. The orange chicken is soggy as hell and leaves an odd after taste (also is essentially over battered chicken strips). The fried shrimp are all batter with a baby shrimp inside. The egg flower soup was broth with bits of egg, no thickness to it. The spare ribs were all fat and bristle with very little meat. They forgot a part of our order and had us come back to give it to us (nothing to make up for the inconvenience was added besides offering a credit next time if I didn't want to pick it up now). Overall not impressed...
It was quiet the last time we were here. There were only a couple other tables/booths with diners. It had been awhile since we were here and I was disappointed that every meal came with multiple variations of rice, except one entree I was not interested in, which came with chow mein. I could have got pan fried noodles as a side, but not with any of their meals. So, I ordered almost the same thing my wife had. What was different was that she had the egg flower soup and I had the hot and sour soup; which both of us enjoyed. What we both had was the sweet and sour chicken, deep fried shrimp, BBQ pork and pork fried rice. Personally, I did not care for the fried rice; but, my wife, who usually really likes the pork fried rice here, said it was not good this time to her. But, the sweet and sour chicken was pretty good. The deep fried shrimp, however, tasted a bit greasy, like the deep fryer was not up to temp when they cooked the shrimp. This told me that I probably made the correct choice when I opted not to order a side of the pan fried noodles because I was concerned they would be limp and taste oily, from being stir-fried in a pan that was not hot enough. I am hopeful that if they were busier that the food would be fresh and prepared at the best temp to make the meals even better. As you can see though, the presentation was good on the plates. I should also add I understand it is difficult for some restaurants to stay open and maintain a full menu in these current times.
