Nice restaurant with a beautiful view. Tasty food, a little bit overpriced Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person KES 500–1,000 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
We had a really fantastic lunch here. The atmosphere is beautiful and I can imagine sunset is just dreamy with the fairy lights! Can highly recommend the crab tacos, they were a real treat Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Pilipan Restaurante has evolved impressively, offering a memorable dining experience. The frozen cocktails set the tone, refreshing and expertly crafted. The calamari, fresh and infused with a zesty blend of chili and ginger, was a standout dish. The warm, soft naan bread was the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Service was efficient and friendly, contributing greatly to our positive experience. Pilipan, once good, is now excellent, making it a highly recommended spot for an enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. Despite the negative reviews mentioning rude servers we decided to give it a chance. However, upon arriving on a lazy Saturday evening without a reservation, we were given the worst seating arrangement next to the boundary, far from the scenic areas. It was frustrating to see that only a few white customers received a warmer welcome and were seated at the premium tables, while we were left feeling neglected. Given the poor treatment, we decided to order only starters, which turned out to be quite underwhelming. The shrimp in salt and pepper and calamari fritto were mostly boiled shrimp and deep-fried calamari without any batter, lacking any real flavor. Furthermore, the food was served in a bowl with a broken corner, and the quantity was significantly smaller compared to other restaurants in the area. To make matters worse, the happy hour cocktails were priced at 1000 KES, which we found to be quite expensive, especially considering that there were better options along the beach with a better view and priced significantly lower at 750 KES or lower. In short, we regret not considering the negative reviews beforehand and deciding to dine at this restaurant. We hope that others will heed our warning and avoid making the same mistake. A single bad experience can indeed ruin one's vacation, and we wish we had chosen a different restaurant instead. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person KES 500–1,000
You can watch the sunset right in front of this beautiful restaurant facing Mida creek. It is definitely worth a visit and cherry on top for how easily accessible it is Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

This review is long overdue, and only took place after coming back from Watamu. If you're looking for Indian/Indian bbq food in Watamu, please don't come here. The food was mediocre at best, and would be ridiculed if the setting was in Nairobi. Service was pretty efficient, but also on the pricing side, I draw the line at paying Ksh 300 for an extra naan. Avoid. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person KES 2,000–2,500 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Great location and stunning food. We’ve been coming for years and noticed a marked improvement in the quality of the service. One of the best restaurants in watamu. We especially love the margaritas and the crab tacos which are new on the menu. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Good selection of drinks and cocktails but don’t go there for food. Maybe it was just the day we went but they did not have much available on their menu as most things were out of stock. Tried to order paneer but wasn’t available so went for butter chicken however they didn’t have naan either?! There were also a number of other times on their menu not available. But based on the food we did get - their specials for the day, the chickpea and butternut squash curry was too sweet and their garlic prawns were less than impressive. The calamari wasn’t amazing either. Sorry, but I really wanted this place to be good but it failed to deliver. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Nice ambience and friendly service. Food was excellent and the Singapore crab was one of the best we have tried. Would definitely go back.
