Management always makes the difference- attract talent and it will take care of itself.
There are 12 people in the restaurant and it’s taken an hour to get a salad.
I don’t blame the employees I blame management… corporate needs to figure out “who not how”.. hire the right who’s

Fantastic visit this morning for breakfast. My pancakes were exceptional. Service was great with shannon as my server. Great smile. Very friendly. Place was clean and very steady and they did great. My food came out fast was prepared perfectly! Love love love you pancakes. Best in the business. Great job today. The manager even came by and asked how my food and service was. I don’t see this to often anymore. Perfect!

The food was great - just like always. Just about everything else about our experience was disappointing. It was really cold in the restaurant. When we commented about that to our waitress she said there weren't any other tables that were warmer, because they were "having an issue with our furnace". This is not acceptable for a public place in MN this week of the year. There were only seven tables being served while we were there, yet the waitress had to come by and apologize for why it was taking so long to get our food (two omelets and four pancakes - really). After finishing our meal, I waited at the cash register for probably about five minutes for someone come and take my money - unacceptable. The ceiling tiles around the supply vents for the A/C system were filthy. That means that the air is not being properly filtered, and that the system is putting dirty air out in the environment - unacceptable. As we drove away, we noticed that the large American flag flying out front was tattered and torn. This is very disrespectful to our country and what it stands for, once again - unacceptable. I wish that there was a way for me to discuss these matters with someone in management at the facility.

Service and atmosphere were as you would expect. I ordered the Cajun Seasoned grilled salmon with fries and asparagus. The salmon was dry and bland. As for the asparagus, half of it was of nice size, the rest was very large in diameter and woody. All the asparagus was overcooked and very limp. The fries were very good. The portions of each seemed to be a bit small.

The restaurant was clean and appeared well cared for. The waitress was attentive except we had to ask someone else for our check. The food tasted good, but was only lukewarm. This included the macaroni and cheese. It wasn't very busy but it seemed to take longer than expected to receive our food. I'm not sure why our food wasn't warmer.

We were at Perkins on 1/26/24 for dinner (5:30pm). We were greeted with “I’ll be right there” while the person was actually yawning. This was also our server. It took at least 30 minutes to get our food. One of the orders was supposed to have link sausage but came out with bacon. I immediately told server this should be sausage links- he said he’d have the kitchen make them. When we asked for boxes for our muffins, I told server I still needed my sausage and he said he’d either comp me or have kitchen make. At this point I said if they’ve not made them, comp me- the sausage came out with our boxes. Food was okay- we ate the muffins when we got home - they tasted old. We also had to ask for water to be refilled and for salt and pepper. Customer service doesn’t seem to be a priority!

We were seated at 10-30. The waitresses warned that cook times were long. We decided to wait. However, 40 minutes later we observed the table seated next to us were served before us. We were seated and placed our order 15 minutes before they were seated! We called the manager and she stated the cooks were “exchanging “ tickets to get them out faster. The challenging aspect is that we ordered the same breakfasts items. Magically the manager disappeared to the kitchen to bring our order. The eggs were dried to a crisp honey brown color. The only difference between us and the other patrons is our race. Makes you wonder why the cooks were exchanging orders.
Sad that Perkins has been reduced to this level of service. I ate bubblegum and chocolate from my purse. When we requested our ticket the waitress said I thought you weren’t going to pay. The audacity!!!!! We had to wait for a ticket.

This Perkins is AMAZING! My server Kathy was very sweet and brought everything for us without even asking. We ordered the prime rib which was delicious and cooked perfectly to order. Restaurant was also very clean.

On my way to work so thought I would swing by and pick up muffins. They tasted very stale and old. Top was like biting through a rock. Will stick to home Perkins from now on as I have never had a problem.

Perkins is generally pretty consistent as far as their food goes, which is good and bad. I personally love their pancakes, but think their other items are very middle of the road. It is nice knowing that you’ll get the same exact taste and presentation at any Perkins you go to, unlike some other chains that are all over the place.
Every time I’ve tried a non-breakfast item, I have been disappointed. Most recently I ordered the pot roast, which was HORRIBLE. I figured that an establishment like this couldn’t possibly mess up a pot roast, but I was proven to be a fool. I had been craving pot roast and mashed potatoes for a while, but this made me dislike the dish.
It looked and tasted arguably worse than a tv dinner, and I can confidently say that I would rather eat air than eat their pot roast meal again. The corn was mushy and tasteless, and the mixed veggies were not tasty either. Meat quality was terrible and honestly tasted suspicious. 0/10.
If that were my first and only experience with this chain, I’d leave a one star. However, I have enjoyed countless late nights at different Perkins locations across the Midwest and they’ve always delivered on decent breakfast food. The bakery items, specifically the pie, is pretty solid as well. Staff friendliness varies by location, but USUALLY they are ok.
Prices aren’t bad and I’ve never gotten sick from eating here, so I’ll continue to go back when I’m yearning for some quality cakes. I definitely enjoy theirs more than ihop.
