I gave 4 stars for the service, don't get me wrong, they served everything perfectly and we had no complaints, just a tiny detail of not cleaning the breadcrumbs for the ladies in the table, and they also forgot to give a napkin. The atmosphere also got 4 stars because as soon as we were seated, we felt a bit claustrophobic. The small room plus dark blue walls felt like the walls were closing in on us. The food were on average, delicious! No complaints at all! It was the best foie terrine that I had, the foie wasn't overpowering, and the pear mousse paired(no pun intended) perfectly with the terrine and hot brioche. We finally went to Pedro Lemos situated in the old section of Foz. The restaurant is lovely, a good renovation in an ancient building. They are particularly proud of their wine room, located off the ground floor entrance. The seating is upstairs. Very minimalist interior. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings. The wine pairing does not include the chefs surprise offering at the start. I would preferred a surprise glass of wine and one less snack. Actually the snacks were the least impressive part of the meal. The first item was horse mackerel, paired with a cocktail with gin and tequila. The strong cocktail was meant to cut through the strong taste of the mackerel. It worked and the cocktail had a kick. The whole dinner was quite good. The grilled blue lobster was a bit overcooked but the rest up to par. They deserve the one Michelan Guide star. A nice service. We had a very nice evening at Pedro Lemos for a special occasion and can only thank the crew for the great service and the terrific food. We had the most special meal at Pedro Lemos here in Porto. It’s not in the tourist area of Porto but Foz which is the most charming part of the city right by the mouth of the river into the Atlantic. The restaurant itself from the outside makes you feel like you are going back in time and entering someone’s home but is modern and comfortable inside. The staff was very welcoming and provided us with the best service from the beginning to the end of the meal. They explained the menu, presented each dish on the course we ordered with a wonderful explanation and allowed us to relax and enjoy every bite. As you can see from the pictures, each course was meticulously prepared and served with perfection. Each and every bite was better than the last and while were were extremely full even with only ordering the shorter course menu, we made sure to finish every last bite as it was so delicious. Pedro Lemos was an amazing experience which we look forward to repeating on the next special occasion or when family and friends come to visit. The whole dinner experience was wonderful and met the high expectations. Staff and service were superlative and the location is very nice.
