I took my partner, his parents and my family out for lunch NOT dinner to give my pocketbook a break.
One of the specials was Chilean sea bass. I don’t eat fish but everyone else seemed to love this fish so they ordered it. It was a special menu insert without any prices. The most expensive item on the lunch menu was $24. I am certain my fiancé and his family would not have ordered this absurd >$40 fish (it s been a while so I cannot recall how much exactly but I want to say it was almost or just over $50 per dish — for LUNCH). This is a very $ conscious group. When the check of >$400 arrived for lunch for 5, they were flabbergasted, embarrassed, and apologetic. As the problem solver I didn’t want them to feel bad so I just took care of the bill but my fiancé kept telling me how absurd it was. Then I researched the lunch menu, and called them back to allow them the opportunity to redeem themselves. The waiter never informed us of the dinner prices for lunch. Never. I told them it would be fair to charge us for the most expensive item on the lunch menu Bc that s what everyone s expectations were-lunch prices. The manager was so foul he practically yelled at me, calling me honey and telling me there would be no way that they would refund anything. Please do NOT support this awful place and manager. He should be publicly known as the cheat. If you inform people of prices so that they are making informed choices - this would have never happened. But perhaps they know the minute they tell the prices, no one would order that dish - for lunch anyway. I should have two dishes refunded!
