This is a legendary bakery. Not only do they sell a myriad of pastries and breads, but also Creole food. During my most recent visit, I decided to try the chicheme. Unbeknownst to me, they have their own twist to it. Turns out they add a good amount of nutmeg which is very evident the moment you taste it. And it tastes really good! Also, the corn they use is smaller than other chichemes you'll find around town. They have succeeded in making their own version of the drink while staying true to the original recipe.
Dear Americans, you may walk in and be enticed by the breads and pastries. Then you'll see the enticing Creole food and suddenly buy more food than you expected to get. Go ahead and get a plate of food, top it off with a pastry and wash it down with a cup of chicheme - the Chorrera trifecta.
